CELEBRATING LIFE

I

image
Hello,

I'm DELILAH

As an ISTJ-A with a strong penchant for cakes, beaches and cats, I play Debussy to keep me zen.

Balancing between personal and business, I presently work as an Executive Assistant to the Group CEO of a multinational consortium right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Backed with years of experience working with the startup industry, multinational corporations and government agencies, I developed strong Corporate Administration skills whilst practising agile and being data-driven.

Coming from a humble background, I found solace in giving back to the community as a way of paying it forward by dividing my spare time with volunteer work.

Glamiva is the place for me to express my passion and knowledge sharing and I’m happy to spread message of positivity to as many people as possible.

Cheers.

Why Do People Fear Artificial Intelligence?

The whole world is talking about AI and how it will contribute to our society. Big companies are trying to benefit by reducing error-cost, countries are trying to build an AI arsenal to increase accuracy and to scare off their enemies. However, what is the consequence of having such an advanced technology? what is the backup plan if this technology turns out to be the worst thing ever invented? Well, first let’s understand AI better.

What is Artificial intelligence?

John McCarthy
The first time the world heard the word “Artificial intelligence” was in 1955 by John McCarthy and his colleagues Marvin Minsky, Nathaniel Rochester, and Claude Shannon. They defined Artificial intelligence as:

“every aspect of learning or any other feature of intelligence can in principle be so precisely described that a machine can be made to simulate it. An attempt will be made to find how to make machines use language, form abstractions and concepts, solve kinds of problems now reserved for humans, and improve themselves“.

In other words, it is the ability of a machine or computer to think and learn do something and be good at to some extent. Learn more here.

AI is an intelligent machine that is able to do a task in specific or many fields . But wait a minute, what is intelligence? How can we define the intelligence of a machine?

Malaysia Handmade Market - Etsy Made Local Malaysia 2017

Hey guys!

Last weekend I went to Etsy Malaysia's Etsy Made Local Malaysia market at the Pertubuhan Arkitek Malaysia @Jalan Tandok, Bangsar. It was my first time there and getting a car park nearby was a bit of a challenge. But I managed to find a parking spot right outside the building, about 5 minutes walk under the sun.

Delilah is Back - 19 November 2017 Comeback

Hey guys,

Delilah here. I'm not sure how many people will read this, but just for a milestone record - as of  now,  the pageviews for Glamiva is so, sooo much lower than how it used to be. Let me show you my blog stats as of 19 Nov 2017, 3.24PM (Malaysia time).

As you can see, for the past 4 weeks, Glamiva has only 3k+ pageviews, average pageview is about 30-50 per day. This is incomparable to her glory days where Glamiva can easily get thousands of pageviews a day. Nope I kid you not.

Glamiva was left by herself for the past 4 years (almost 5 now), thanks to me focusing on work since graduating in Aesthetics. So the sad stats today is a no-shock, it is expected. Painful but expected. My bad, I'm so sorry Glammy.

But not anymore.

I will make her The Blog of the community, of the country again, and beyond. She will have a new face and make a comeback strong with style, elegance and attitude. She will be the platform for honest beauty reviews, good food, community happenings, lifestyle and real talk.

I have so many things to share, so many stories to tell. What I've learned during my absence these past 5 years from personal and professional experiences will be put to the test in this quest, and I welcome you to subscribe (you will see my Feedburner page), follow me on Instagram @d3lilah and keep updated in my journey.

With love,
Delilah

Movie Review: Atomic Blonde (2017)

atomic blonde movie review 2017 charlize theron james mcavoy Sofia Boutella

So...Atomic Blonde came out on July 28th and I watched it the next day on Saturday. I didn't think much of the movie and it was just out of sheer convenience + perfect timing.

So Atomic Blonde was touted amongst my friends as the "..female version of John Wick" and I entered the theatre with much anticipation and lukewarm-feeling in the stomach. Well I for one do not believe females can be all the testosterone we see in The Hulk, Bad Boys, Batman, Rambo.. - you get what I mean.

Well I was wrong. The make up and sound effects, coupled with Charlize Theron's and James McAvoy's acting, made me cringe and be amazed at some parts of the movie. Charlize can actually throw throw her heels out, fold up her sleeves and kick ass - and in the movie her character exudes this confident, empowered woman - which I really like. James McAvoy was the perfect co-star in the movie. He's damn good, nuf said.

The movie started by showing Charlize at the current state where she had a black eye and bruised face - setting the tone and mood on the audience for a thrilling experience ahead. The movie was exciting from start to finish, definitely worth the money spent. =)

And hey there's another co-star that I felt sooo familiar but couldn't remember where. Where oh where I saw her...

And after about 5 minutes of scavenging my brain folders - there she was, Sofia Boutella from The Mummy 2017. Haha! Who can forget that beautiful face and sultry eyes.

The story was presented at such that if you miss 10minutes of it, you won't get the story at all in the end. Haha. So be sure to use the washroom before the movie!

Verdict
Would I recommended? Yes, the movie is perfect to watch with the girls.
Probably not for those who loves muscles and gun-explosive scenes.
