Big Mama Python Laid 21 Eggs at Bayan Lepas, Penang (VIDEO)

I never watch a python laying her eggs. Have you? I bet most of you don't..so which is why I'm going to share with you a video of 'Big Mama', a 7-metre long python who just gave birth this April! =D

She was delivering her python eggs in a snake farm next to the famous Snake Temple in Bayan Lepas, Penang. The snake farm reported that Big Mama was already pregnant when she was brought to the farm. She's reported to be 20-30 years of age, based on her size.

Up to this video was recorded, she had already laid 21 eggs. Normally, a python can lay up to 50 eggs one time! Can't imagine giving birth 50 times man....that must be...painful. Very. Very very very, VERY, painful.

The eggs would take up to 10 weeks to hatch and their survival rate would be 70%. That's quite high and it's a good thing, since it's a protected animal. I mean, endangered species. Ya la same thing la. xD

The farm will report to the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (DWNP) on the number of eggs laid and hatched.

So mark the date- 23 April as the newborns's birthdates!

The Story
When Ellen's birthday was coming near, she tweeted that she had a one simple wish- a lock of Justin Bieber's hair and Justin tweeted back that she was getting her wish come true! Ellen got her gift and she decided to donate it for The Gentle Barn (an animal rescue organization). Justin even signed the box as a bonus! Whoa! It's something like our Datuk Lee Chong Wei gave away his winning racquet for charity. Awesome...

Watch this youtube video clip where Justin gave away his chopped locks off and signed the box!

Justin Bieber's Hair- The Winning Bid
It was auctioned off at a whopping US $40,668.00!! Whoa!! That's more than RM100,000 here! Way to go Bieb! So happy for the animals.

I wonder if this will spark a trend amongst celebrity now...you know, to auction off their hair or anything that belongs to them. That will be good. Very good. =)

Penang 'Fake Eggs' Weren't Fake!!

I repeat. The seized eggs that claimed to be fake, were not fakes at all! I mean the one from Pulau Tikus, Penang.

The Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry (MOSTI) confirmed from perliminary study on the 'fake eggs' that the eggs are genuine ones, not fake ones. Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said that this is based on chemical tests on the egg shell protein, egg white and egg yolk.

It Happened Before
It seems that the ministry received similar reports in 2007 and then found out from tests that those were not fake eggs either. Sounds like the sheep cry wolf thing here.

Then...what about the youtube video that I shared titled Beware of Fake Eggs then?? Which egg was that?? o_0

Zizan (Raja Lawak) and Dira: TV3's 'Melodi' Hosts!

tv3 melodi zizan raja lawak dan dira
Picture from bharian.com.my

This morning, I woke up...errrr wait, it was 12pm already actually. xD Let me re-phrase.

This afternoon, sharp 12pm, I woke up and turned the Sony Bravia tv on. Tv3 showed 'Melodi' and wut?? Zizan and who's that other girl?? What happened to Wahid and Fara??

So straightaway I Googled. xD Berita Harian Online reported that starting this April 2011, Zizan (Raja Lawak) and Dira Abu Zahar will be co-hosts for TV3's 'Melodi' show. Time would still be the same, every Sunday at 12.30pm.

Why The Change?
It seems that Wahid and Fara's host contract was expiring until end of March 2011, so the show's publisher, Azman Abd. Ghafar stated that after deep discussion several months before, a change of the front cover seems strategic and reasonable.

For Wahid's fans, you can still catch him in his spontaneous acts in a new show titled 'Ewah-Ewah' with Nabil that will be aired on TV3 this April! Wohoo! Fara? Don't know...not stated eh. All in all, all the best for these four in their new ventures!

FYI: How to Identify Fake Egg

Following the Fake Eggs Seized at Penang, Malaysia, I've come across a video from The Star Online's Youtube about how to identify fake eggs.

It is a bit tricky to identify if the egg is fake or not because "at a glance, they look similar." You need to take a closer look and be very detailed in observing.

How to Identify Fake Egg
Unusual size, larger than real eggs.
Has rougher surface than real eggs.
When broken, a fake egg has no sign of chalaza that holds the egg yolk.
When broken, the egg yolk of the fake egg mixes quickly with the egg white.
The fake egg yolk has darker yellowish hue.

So now we know how, if you're going to buy eggs, try see the size and the surface of it as obviously we can't crack the egg open to see the yolk right?? xD So check the size and the surface, rough or not. Then, get back home, check the yolk and see if it mixes easily with the egg white or not.

Alang-alang just buy Nutriplus with Omega 3 laaaaaa haiyaaaa so susah one la this matter. xD

Oh this is the video from The Star Online. See it!

Fake Eggs Seized From Pulau Tikus, Penang

fake eggs from pulau tikus penang 2011
Picture from thestar.com.my

Seven officers from the Penang Domestic Affairs, Co-operatives and Consumerism Department have seized 378 eggs from 3 stalls at the Pulau Tikus market as a result from claims saying that fake eggs filled with chemicals were being sold there. Each stall was seized 3 trays (90 eggs) and an hour later, a team of four from the State Health Department collected more samples. The Star reported.

A Domestic Trade Department spokesman said that the samples would be sent to the Chemistry Department or the Veterinary Services Department for analysis.

The Complain
One of the complains was from a housewife, saying that she bought a tray of 30 eggs for RM11 at that market but later found they don't smell like real eggs and were tasteless.

The Egg Sellers
Lim Beng Poh, in her 60s, said that the eggs from her stall were from her brother, Lim Chong Teng's poultry farm in Titi Serong, Balik Pulau. At the farm, Chong Teng's wife said they reared 7,000 chickens which produce about 5,000 eggs a day. Both Lim and Chong Teng's wife are sure that their eggs are pure eggs, not fake ones.
Tan Shuan Soon, 56 years old, dismissed the reports of fake eggs, claimed that an egg's texture would change between 7 and 10 days.

The Fake Egg Tasting
The Star reporter tasted a boiled egg at the CAP's office and found that it was "not awful but tasteless".

"Unlike the real ones that have the smell of an egg being boiled, the fake ones were odourless," she said.

The yolk was tried to be separated from the egg white but the yolk broke into smaller pieces. "In a real egg, the yolk can easily be removed whole," she said.

Del Says
I'm shocked! If it's true... then everything in this world is starting to be fake nowadays...fake eggs, fake juices, fake ICs', fake boobies...xD Everything lah! So how? Makan pasir la better. Maybe later there'll be fake air too eh? Gee God forbid.

Quote of The Day: "I Must Govern the Clock, Not Be Governed by It"

real simple daily quote time clock

“I must govern the clock, not be governed by it.”

― Golda Meir

How nice if we all can do this. There would be no last-minutes EVER! xD I can't seem to have time for myself, it seems like I don't have enough time! I know what you'll say- "every little thing in this world, God gives us all 24 hours each per day, no more no less. How come mothers with 4 children can still keep fit and care for her children AND still have time for her hubby??"

That's a superwoman I must say. I mean....yes she can, with help from other people like maids, nanny, gardener...rich women normally la. Na lain topik suda me. xD

Anyhuuu...I think the way to govern the clock is by assigning the time. Like, you have 1 hour to depart to prom and you need to bathe, make up, do your hair and maybe an express manicure. So obviously you bathe, assign maybe 10 minutes like that...then do the manicure first (nail polish needs time to dry!) while you're doing your hair and make up - 50 minutes! xD Easy huh? Hope I can take my own advice la. xD

Thanks Real Simple!

Result
72% says 'Hindering'
21% says 'Helping'
7% says 'Not Sure'

Comments...
Chandra said, "Eliminate race based parties and politics, but to that it will take a strong personality from the ruling government to do so."

Izham said, "Race-based parties will always mean that the champion of the party will practice the 'my race comes first' mentality."

Del Says...
I agree with Chandra. Actually I'm one of the 7% people. xD I'm not so into politics...but it seems true what both Chandra and Izham says there, we do have race-based politic parties..don't know why aa?

Gold Jewellery Attracts Criminals. So How??

Gold Wearers...Beware
Yesterday night, a 79 year-old woman was found covered in blood in front of the 8th floor lift of the Sri Perak Flat, situated at Bandar Baru Sentul, Kuala Lumpur. Veeramah Perumal was believed to have been robbed before her neck was slashed using a sharp object, mStar online reported.

The incident is believed to have happened at about 6.45pm to 7.30pm. Victim died because of her serious injury and no weapons obtained from the crime scene. Officials think she was robbed because her earrings have gone missing but the criminals didn't have time to run away with the victim's purse and gold bracelet.

So How??
I'm told from time to time that gold won't lose it's price as others like silver would. It might even go up as time passes. Don't know true or not....so we should get gold then instead? So what about robbers, burglars, snatchers?? Even worse...necklace snatchers?? How la like this? I was even advised by Woman's parents to not wear my gold necklace while I'm here in semenanjung. THAT Scary oo.

Maybe I'll just wait till I get back to Sabah and resume my normal life. I mean, maybe it won't be as normal as I think it would, but at least there will be my favorite kon lau mee noodle, wantan ho fish, Snowy, my nice comfy bed....aaahhhhh home sweet home...

Daily Activity: Back from Sunway, Hello Klang!

Hey all! I just got back to Klang today morning from Sunway. Yesterday, the graduation was a success, tho a bit of downs at some corners of it. But I'm glad. Glad it's over, glad I experienced it! xD

I stayed at Sun Inn Hotel all 3 days since last Friday and the hotel is just 5 minutes of walking distance from Sunway Pyramid. About 5 minutes only reached already, betul aa, bukan tipu ni.

Mom and I parted around 11am like that- she wanted to do some shopping before heading to KLIA. =( I felt sad when she left...still am. Maybe I'm getting the home sick thing now. And yes I'm crying. Again. Oh lord. I smelt the pillow where her hair slept 2 nights in a row and can still smell the mild smell of her hair..I cried. I guess I really am home sick. Mom sick, cat sick, bed sick, bedroom view sick, bathroom sick, shower sick, the wooden stair sick, the creaking fan sick ...I can continue on and on man.

Moving along! xD So I checked out some minutes after 12pm then waited for Woman to come and pick me up. It wasn't long before she arrived with her family, only like, 10 minutes of wait la on the side of the road. This time I still felt the gurgling sensation in my stomach. I ate a lot of food yesterday, seriously. We had steamboat. Nuff said.

Reached Klang in less than 30 minutes man. So near! xD I got up to the condo...loaded our stuff on the pink bed...(the bed was quite invincible after we were done)

Woman went out then to be with Aunty H and her family started to go back home already. I on the other hand....had to return back a blouse I bought for the graduation from Nichii. It said that I have 7 days to return it back and exchange it for a different size. So I had to go to Jusco Bukit Tinggi via cab and thank god the price wasn't bad, RM20. Made friends with the driver as well. xD Cab drivers aren't actually as poor as we think they are...believe me.

So I exchanged the size of the blouse already...thank god....then I had a shopping spree a bit using my first gaji! Wohoo! xD Bought Hush Puppies and Larrie shoes. The Larrie shoe was surprisingly comfortable, super duper soft to the touch and has cushions all over the surface and my feet felt bliss when I slipped my aching feet into it. So the Hush Puppies obviously is mine and the Larrie would be for my mom. She would surely love it, seriously. It's like the best shoe ever, even the Hush Puppies can't beat the comfort it gives. Bought some grocery...nothing much, just fruits and my Fitness First cereal. =D

I got back home around....6pm. Then went to Digi Centre in Centro to pay for my Digi broadband bill. Only RM41.++! I thought I'm to pay RM68....maybe next month eyh? xD

That's it! Done. xD I kinda promised to post up pictures on my journey here to Klang...but still no time to do it and it's already 10.16pm.... =( I hope I'll be able to get some time to do la...I seriously lack time! xD

Quote of The Day: "Love Wasn't Meant to Be Rational. It Was Meant to be Experienced and Felt"

“Love wasn’t meant to be rational. It was meant to be experienced and felt.”

― S.L. Naeole

quote of the day old couple hold hands

Love, there's no rationality in there if you ask me. From all the experience of having 10 boyfriends...not all at once la aa, I'm not that type of girl..wasn't and never will, there's not sensibility when someone is in love. I mean, in the sense that they'd do anything and nearly everything for the one they love. And that can be a good thing or a bad thing.

Remember our late Malaysian teenager Alviss Kong? He committed suicide all for a girl who didn't like him. No rational in that right? But for him it was very rational. Very very very. Why? Because of love. He felt it, yes, correct, he felt it very much and he cannot think of anything else or think further about the situation that can make him think it wasn't sensible. It was sad. Very sad.

Back to the topic, I myself right now am happily using my brain instead of 100% emotions now with the ones I love, including Snowy. xD I tend to be intrigued when I see cat food or cat toys here in Semenanjung and then thought, better don't, cuz I don't think he'd be interested in the effects of his raging maturing hormones there in his testicles. xD
