Sabah Reserve Players Charged with Robbery at Likas Square Condotel

The trio, consisting of 19 year-old Dendy Lowa (Tenom), 20 year-old Leopold Alfonso Otong (Inanam) and 17-year-old teenager (name not mentioned) from Beaufort, had burgled an apartment on the 4th floor of Likas Square Condotel and took away RM1,070 cash and a handphone worth around RM400. This was done aroud 5.30am, 23 January 2011.
If they're convicted, they can be jailed up to 14 years and fined.
Status
A trial has been set, 11-13 April 2011 by the magistrate. Two accused have been released on RM2,000 bail each, with a deposit of RM600 with two local sureties. The third teenager was released with RM1,500 bail, deposited RM500 with two local sureties.
At first, prosecuting officer Chief Inspector Ismail Mohamad Razali proposed a RM8,000 bail on each of the teens but then their counsel, Nelson Anggang applied for the bail to be reduced for the three are the ones who earn money for their family, under contract to play football and hence need to train (for Sabah) and also they have "pleaded innocence" and so shouldn't be punished to pay a higher bail amount.
I wonder how come such teenagers of ages less than 20 years old can manage to break into a house at Likas Square Condotel? Is the security there not enough? Or the teens are just too smart?
Shine on,
Del
