Plastic Bags Sales Rises, Ironically
It seems that people in Kota Kinabalu don't mind paying another extra of RM0.20 for a plastic bag.

plastic bag sales increase in kota kinabalu 2011

City Hall director-general Datuk Yeo Boon Hai said that the sale from the campaign "No Plastic Bags on Mondays" has doubled up in November 2010 than June 2010 where it was first launched.

How Much?

Sale on June 2010 was RM15,000 while November 201o was astounding RM39,000. Maybe because of the holidays yeah?

City Hall is hoping that people wouldn't buy plastics no more by adding more days to the "No Plastic Day" campaign- Saturdays and Sundays. What happened to Tuesdays?

Del Says...

I think...they should increase the price of the plastic bags. I bet people would think twice to buy such an expensive piece of plastic bag just to carry their stuff to the car, 10 steps away. Yeah, I think that will do. Putting more days is a good one, but I think increasing the plastic bag price will be a stronger reason for them to not buy anymore.
