Shopping Day: Nail Art at Centre Point and Asia City

Hi all! Sorry so much for the MIA (Missing in Action). It's been a really crazy week, with my assignments, photos to be taken and stuff to buy.

I'm going to do nail art on Denise tomorrow for my City & Guilds portfolio. For the advance level (level 3), I have to do nail extensions and/or nail arts and take the result, all 6 of my choice.

I went to shop for 3-D decorations and some transfers (it's the nail stickers, the City & Guilds book calls them transfers). It was fun! Too bad so little I saw. I went to Asia City to buy the stuff as I saw it earlier but I couldn't find it- guess it was closed and I can't remember really which floor was it...so...darn it! The shop has these really cute slices of watermelons and lemons for nail art you know.. =( Denise wanted one too. Well..what to do.

So I went to Centre Point instead. All I can think of was eNoveal. I went to both of it's shop on the ground floor and 3rd floor (new one, previous was the astro branch).

The ground floor provided me with a cute find!! I saw a wheel of cute little roses in so many colors!! Just perfect and it was the only deco that I see for 3-D. And there was this beads with different colors, so I bought it too. =)

The roses are available in all colors, including black! Each color has 5 roses on them, so I'm guessing the roses are suppose to be put on the big toenail only. This item is cost at RM12.90.

The beads however, darn it I didn't check properly first, some of the beads from each color are mixed with other colors. Some even managed to nearly get out from the packet itself. Can't believe this. How they handle their items I have no idea.

The beads item cost RM8.90.

Then I got these babies at the new shop of eNoveal on the 3rd floor! I got 2 Sonata Instant Fringed Iris 3 D-Art Nail for the price of one (RM9.90) and Nail Accessory transfer nail at RM8.90. eNoveal's having a promotion for the fake nails!

Here's the insides of one of the fake nails. There's a glue that comes together with it!

I also bought this nail art glue from the new eNoveal shop. Very cheap, RM2.50 only. =) Not sure how to apply this, a dish would be enough kan?

Here's a close up of the transfer. Very nice eh? =) It has 3 patterns!

So that was all I bought, overall I really hope in the future, more shops will sell 3-D's and nicer fake nails. =) eNovuelle's still the top in selling salon stuff, really.

I can't wait what will happen tomorrow!

Hot Spring KK Family Trip

Last Saturday, my family and I went to the Poring Hot Spring, Ranau. Dad suddenly told us to pack our bags and go there the night before Saturday. I on the other hand, had to go to the academy. Just to finish up my work. So there I went and we went off at about 5.30pm. Dad changed the car tyres first. =p Like baru saja he change them, guess the car memang travel a lot la. =p

kinabalu national park
There's this nice place for food, between Kota Kinabalu and Kundasang. Panataran, such a nice place, conveniently located just at the front of the Kinabalu National Park. So seeing english people, korean, japanese here is common. Food is a variety! Western, they have sandwiches (no toast, too bad), grilled chicken, lambs, fish and chips, pasta and fries in the snack section. Others, expect mixed veggie, sweet and sour, mushroom chicken and mamak style cooking. Not feeling it? There's soup for you! Price is affordable, for food, expect RM5++ (western can be a lot more) and drinks, well, the usual price you find in KK. The employees there aren't so professional and try not to come during peak hours- our last visit there (coming back to KK), we had to wait exactly 40 minutes to have our food to come, that is AFTER my dad and mom start asking about it in a stern manner. And the waiter was nice enough to reply back, saying that the cook is cooking the same dishes first. And we didn't see anything like that coming. Parking is spacious and nicely renovated. This shop closes at 7.30pm.

Okay skip everything to the poring. We usually go for the other pool where we have to pay the same amount of entrance fee- Adult= RM3, Child= RM1 (non-malaysians pay different amount). It's lesser people there where you may not find pilaks or bunch of teens with jeans. Note: MAY not. xD

hot spring kk
I kNNNNNnnnow~ There was one of the staff for Orang Kuat Sabah! Gee he's very big man. Like a balloon! At this time, dad was teaching the boys. I? Well..I can't swim. So I was under the bridge until about 30 minutes before we leave the pool. Kesian kan? xD

hot spring kk
I was stunned to see this- Mom was the one who took it and I think she took a great shot!! xD

family poring
Dad showering after his approximately 2-hour bath. He got slimmer oh!

By the way...the water..was TOTALLY DIRTY!! I mean, I can see black dirt, scraps of leaves and such in the water! ALL OVER the pool! Imagine! I would've took a picture of the water but well, busy trying to float myself. xD

The water was seriously cold, like freezing cold, your teeth will chatter and your body shake if you feel the cold wind above the water. So i practically dip myself sampai my head. Bwahaha!

I'm going to learn how to swim from now on, seriously. I can't keep on hiding myself- poor me. >.< On the way home, I took some pictures at a spot. =) mount kinabalu
It was gona be dusk when we arrived at the spot.

mount kinabalu
It must be nice to be living in that house..

Wish I live here. Look at those clouds!

Healthy Food that Lowers Cholesterol

I bring you 7 foods that will help you lower your cholesterol!

avcado

Monounsaturated fats (good fats) in particular can help reduce "bad" LDL cholesterol levels. Find it in avocados, peanut butter and nuts like hazelnuts, almonds and pecans and vegetable oils such as olive, canola and peanut. Don't go overboard, even healthy fats are high in calories. For example, a handful of nuts or 2 tablespoons of olive oil is all you need.- Julhie Bhatia

fish
Omega-3s can protect your heart and may improve your blood cholesterol profile. Find them in fatty fish (mackerel, herring, sardines and salmon),soy foods (tofu, walnuts, flaxseeds) and fish oil. Be sure to bake or grill the fish, not fry it. The American Heart Association recommends eating fish (especially the fatty kind) at least two times a week.

oat
Soluble fibre lowers "bad" LDL cholesterol, by preventing cholesterol from being absorbed into the bloodstream. You need at least 3 grams of soluble fiber a day to reduce your heart disease risk (1 1/2 cups of cooked oatmeal will give you up to 6 grams). Find it in oatmeal, rolled oats or oat bran and grains such as barley, psyllium and rice bran.

beans
Not into the whole oats and grans thing? Beans, lentils and peas is your alternative! One study found that eating half a cup of cooked dry pinto beans daily for 12 weeks lowered total cholesterol by about 8 percent. The best part? Bean-based meals are a protein-rich great substitute for high-saturated fat, cholesterol-heavy meats.

You can also take fruits such as apples, pears, oranges and grapefruit.

butter
Sterols and stanols (substances naturally found in many plant foods) help block the absorption of cholesterol into the bloodstream. You can find them in margarine, orange juice and yogurt drinks. If you want your LDL (bad) cholesterol drop by about 5 to 15 percent, you need to eat at least 2 grams of these substances a day or drink two 8 ounce glasses of fortified orange juice a day.

blueberries
Fruits such as blueberries, cranberries and grapes may also reduce cholesterol, perhaps, because they're high in heart-healthy antioxidants.

strawberies
Moderate drinking has been linked with higher levels of "good" HDL cholesterol, though whether certain beverages, like antioxidant-rich red wine, have additional heart benefits hasn’t been established. Any alcoholic beverage will work.

Do you know that one of the benefits of having pets is that they help lower our cholesterol too?

KFC Abuse Chickens??

KFC Abuse Chickens

Is KFC being cruel to chickens?? While I was googling on my previous article on the new KFC Boneless Fillet Box, I found this website,www.kentuckyfriedcruelty.com/. It's making me uneasy. Seriously, they put colonel's pictures but not the smiling face, it's the cruel, sinister face, twisted smile and holding a chicken by it's legs.

It's stated that KFC crams chickens are crammed by the tens of thousands into excrement-filled sheds that stink of ammonia fumes, chicken's legs and wings often break because they’re bred to be too top-heavy and because workers carelessly shove them into transport crates and shackles and they are dropped into hot water after having their throats slit. A lot more cruelty to be read there!

Five members of KFC's Animal Welfare Advisory Council have resigned in frustration due to KFC didn't listen to any of their advices or even hold out meetings. Adele Douglass, told the Chicago Tribune that KFC “never had any meetings. They never asked any advice, and then they touted to the press that they had this animal-welfare advisory committee. I felt like I was being used.”

Wow...I never thought..well, I never imagine something like this..

And there's another one, on why KFC is called KFC, instead of Kentucky Fried Chicken like it used to be back in the old times.

“They can no longer use the name Kentucky Fried Chicken because the chicken they serve isn’t real chicken! I heard that the chickens they breed are genetically modified so that they do not have feathers on them. This will then save them time because they do not need to pluck them off their body.”

However, Snopes.

So which is true???

HTML Code: Automatic Scroll Boxes

Do you see the "My Sites" section at the bottom right of my webpage? Don't you think it's awesome?? The letters (you can add a link into it too!) scrolls up automatically! You can alter it's appearance, whether to make it scroll up, down, sideways, the size, the scrolling speed, etc. How cool is that?? You'll save space, faster loading pages and avoid irritating your viewers when they have to scroll down the page so long due to your overloaded links! xD

It wasn't included in the original template source...so I had to scavange the net for a code that can help me get something like that! I typed "automatic scroll box" and BOOM this article came up the 1st result page.

I copied and tested the scroll box, it was nice, but it didn't have any borders to it. So I added some more codes into the code and boy was I proud of myself...I managed to do what I exactly wanted to do! I get to change the colors of the border too!

Here's the code after I'm done with it:

Play with the code, it's so much fun! Well it's time consuming but you'll be satisfied with the result you'll get!

You can add even more html code in the content section like me, I added symbols before the name. It's like the heart shaped symbol and the link next to it in my blog.

So yeah, hope this helps you all, have fun! ^^
