Healthy Food
I've always wanted to start eating veggies and fruits...I mean, like, everyday, not just once-in-a-blue-moon kind of thing. I wana be healthy!

I saw Top 10 Foods That Are Good For Both Low-Fat and Low-Carb Diets and I got an idea on how to make my everyday diet green by just adding one or more of the food on the list!

lettuce
Darker greens and lettuces are wise choices, as they pack extra vitamins and minerals.

asparagus
This beautiful low-carb vegetable (not to mention they look like criss-cross fries)can be a centerpiece of low-carb or low-fat dishes. Asparagus is low in calories and adds vitamins like folate and vitamin A. I never taste them tho. What does it taste like?

zucchini
I never take this one either. Zucchini is another low-calorie, low-carb vegetable -great when added to salads or stir-fry dishes, or sautéed alone or with other vegetables.

Tomato
Tomatoes are a staple for sauces and have lots of uses in the kitchen (yes they do!). I always have them in my tuna sandwiches.

Salmon
Salmon is a fatty, though healthy, fish, rich in omega 3 and protein! Taste great too!

Chicken and turkey are both great choices because, when prepared properly, they are both low-fat and excellent protein sources. (come to think of it, it's true) Organically raised chickens and turkey make even better selections. (I agree! My mom saw Nutriplus organic raw chicken at G-Mart, Inanam for about RM10 for whole chicken!)

Game meat
Game meats, such as venison and elk, are very lean. They are healthy substitutes for fatter, hormone-tainted beef. (Wow I don't think I've seen any of these here in KK..)

Broth or stock can be used as a base for soups, stews and sauces. Stocks and soups can also be used in other recipes to keep meats moist during cooking.

berry
Berries are high in vitamins and antioxidants, so they make a great dessert or nice addition to salads. (Oooh this is great for yogurts and morning cereals!)

wine
There are studies that show a correlation between wine consumption and good health. Remember that one serving of wine is only 4 ounces. I hear they are the delicious ones among the other alcoholic beverages. =P

Shine on,
Del
