Melle Beauty Ambulung (Rumbia) Soap Review

reviews skin care melle beauty ambulung rumbia soap

I bought something from my shopping trip at Wawasan Plaza, Kota Kinabalu on 30th August 2009. I was intrigued by the brochure I was given by their flyer girls at Warisan Square before that. So I've decided to buy it (sold for RM48.80 aa), note that my cleanser have also run out ngam ngam. =P It is manufactured in Lok Kawi, distributed from Wawasan Plaza.

Here's the flyer. I was given (again) after purchasing the soap. Here it reads..

Menyejukkan dan mencerahkan kulit wajah secara semulajadi. Gunakan 2 kali sehari.

The girl who sold it to us told to use it like cleanser, wet it, lather onto the skin and massage it thoroughly. And if you're getting blemishes, don't worry, it's normal and it will go away. "Memang macam tu," she said. Okay, I thought.

Here's how it is from the packaging. Wrapped up. Very hygiene!

reviews skin care melle beauty ambulung rumbia soap
I cut the soap vertically and use the smaller piece at a time. Cuz the girl said the soap kinda kembang if left too long in wet area. So I got my tupperware bowl and put the soap in!

The lather is thick but disappears quickly when applied onto the skin. Either it evaporates or seep into the skin, I don't know la. My face didn't feel any tightening or itchiing after washing, like normal. It doesn't have a strong smell, like those medicated ones, only it has milder, less pungent smell. And it's like the rumbia's smell I think.

reviews skin care melle beauty ambulung rumbia soap
The first few weeks I can already see zits popping out from new places across my face. Like, 3-6 of them. And when it pops, it comes back again. I was like, believing what the girl said and just continued with the soap until it was finished, like, about 3 months la I used the soap.

The result? My face got more zits than before I used it. It's not like, the whole zits appear at a time, they switches and like I said, I get new zits popping on areas of my face. I regret buying the soap man.

Wasn't worth the money even. Priced at nearly RM50 for a soap that won't do me any good. I won't buy it again and I won't recommend it to anybody. Na ah.

Tweezers: My Favourite Brand!

qvs favourite tweezer review

I want to share you guys my favourite tweezer! It's the QVS Astro Tweezer! I got to know about it from Marianne, my colleague. She was telling us (her classmates) about how amazing it is and how it doesn't get rusty. So I bought it! And never looked for tweezer ever again! My it's so expensive on the net, I bought it at Watsons Centre Point (Damai punya didn't have any QVS tweezer anymore) for about RM10 only!

There are 3 types, one is a pointed edge (great for gripping lashes during eyelash extension, but I never seen this one!), square edge and slant edge. I bought the square one before but it got lost. =P

The square one is more supportive, like, you won't use much energy while using it than the slant one. But, the slant one is best to use for removing hairs! Yes, for tweezing! I can easily pull out the ingrown hairs with this for it's end is pointed. =) Eyebrow tweezing is much easier as it's already slanted and you don't need to place your arms at an angle (like if you use the square one) to start tweezing.

qvs favourite tweezer review

This tweezer never rusts (made from 100% steel!! It's so far the best tweezer I know and it is a money-well-spent item! Cuz if you buy a cheap, apa lagi thick-pointed tweezer, which when you start using it, you'll only get hurt and can't pull out hairs, you'll throw it and buy another tweezer, waste of money. Go straight to the best of the best and never regret!

qvs favourite tweezer review

Here's the back of the tweezer's packaging. It can be cut at the top and you can reuse the package to store your tweezer! How thoughtful of them!

Here's what the back of the tweezer pack says..

There is no right or wrong tweezer. Whether you select slant, square or point tip, satin, mirror polished, black or gold electro finish, it is simply a matter of personal preference and what works best for you.

As a general guide to help with your selection:

Slant tip- the perfect 'all-rounder'. A great general purpose tweezer that offers a slightly tighter grip than a square and more precision than a square tip.

Square tip- provides a firm grip and is especially good for coarse and stubborn hairs.

Point tip- particularly good to target individual hairs in dense patches, or for the delicate removal of ingrown hairs and splinters.

All our tweezers are hand crafted from premium quality stainless steel for longevity and have ground tips, able to grab the finest of hairs without testing your patience.
Do you own this too? Do you have any other tweezers of your choice? Spill it out and share with us all!

Make Up Tutorial for Asian: Cousin's Wedding (Day)

Hi all! Wana show you guys my make up for my cousin's wedding last Monday at Kuala Penyu that. Well....it's not really a complete one, I just show how did I did my eyeshadow. I didn't really put much on my face, I'm having blemishes now and then. So I just put my Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation in True Beige under my eyes.

make up tutorial

I saw items only for the eyeshadow part. I was feeling creative that day. I only had this cheap palette that I bought from Karamunsing (thanks again woman! She told me about it!) that I used for make up practices at academy (but it's really good, for RM8.90, it has like, 11 beautiful bright colours on! And it sticks!), Elianto Colour Studio in number 18, Almond and Elianto Colour Studio Shimmer Shadow in Salmon. Weird, both aren't in the website. Maybe it's discontinued?

I put on the Elianto Colour Studio in number 18, Almond on my eyelid, from the base to the fold-line of my eyelid. Which, in my case, it's short, vertically. =P

make up tutorial

Then I layered the Almond shadow with a bright blue from the Karamunsing eyeshadow palette. I took sikit saja, it was a day thingy kan. It was pretty cool! The colour turned to silver! Dark silver! But gotta keep the blue shadow light, if not it'll really turn to bright blue! =D Looking at this pic below, I think it looks nice as it is, can skip the next step! xD

Then I applied the Elianto Colour Studio Shimmer Shadow in Salmon on the upper part. It looks like brown when applied lightly and it suits my skin tone! Chinese look, tan (I got a lot of Sun during my school days), small droopy-like eyes...you know. =P

Then I applied a light green, shimmery eyeshadow from the Karamunsing eyeshadow palette. It really makes my eyes pop! Ain't it? Looks nicer kan?

Then I just dust my Za True White Two-Way Foundation in 32 starting from the centre of my face, blending outwards. (a very very light one using the big brush). And NO second dipping into the powder. I know there'll be a possibility of hotness (it was day kan) and sweating with your make up isn't good. Sikiiiiiit saja I used.

Done! Tada! I intensified the eyeshadow colour for this tutorial so that you guys can see it. =P

Tasty Food Village Complaint!

If any of the Tasty Food Village (One Borneo, Kota Kinabalu) management people is reading, I'll be so glad! I went there to eat before (like, months ago) and it was okay. Like, we had to buy coupons (RM10 each) and buy food with it. Stalls were okay. It was tolerable.

But NOW, recently I went there, like last week, and boy I was so shocked! I saw steamboat display (that was okay) on the right side, the usual shop on my left, 3 EMPTY LOTS on my right, and more empty lots in front of me! And the steamboat lot put their menu or, like, stands of their steamboat shop at the first 6 tables from the entrance! What is all that about?? And people were soooo little at that time!

And you were lucky I had half an hour to eat before my movie started or I would be out! Coupons weren't needed already (what a relief) but, I was confused on the first few minutes I went in there, seriously. Like, where are all the other stalls?

One waiter went up to us and my guy ordered Roasted (I think) Duck rice. Few minutes later the waiter went up to us and told us there were no chicken. Okay he changed to Chicken rice. I ordered Wantan Ho Seafood (Cantonese Style Fried Kway Teow was the name, thank god for the menu's pix).

My wantan ho arrived earlier than the chicken rice. Weird, I thought maybe they cook it first or something, cuz it was RM6 for god's sake. It took like, 15 minutes? God. And I was shocked to see it!

tasty food village food kota kinabalu sabah

Ini saja? Seriously? Tolong la! It wasn't even hot! No smoke at all! The kicap's not nice even! I'd pay for RM4 only for this! My kway teow was okay, but it was RM7.50. Seafood dia bukan banyak juga, more sotong and....can't remember...the price NDA NGAM.

And we ordered ABC.
tasty food village food kota kinabalu sabah

Well you can't really see anything here, cuz my bb already campur2 semua. But this pic was taken before we start to eat it. Ada la juga kacang sikit, tu hijau2 skit and...kacang merah skit. Semua sikit-sikit and it was RM3.80. Tanjung Aru Beach's ABC is still the best! I won't order it from you again!

tasty food village food kota kinabalu sabah
Here's the receipt. I was given another receipt for my kway teow, like, it was added RM1 more than the price on the menu. Don't know why. I didn't care of asking, I was rushing for my movie. Confusing eh?

After all this, I won't go there anymore until it returns back to normal and I wished we just go for pizza that day. Biarla mahal sikit, janji reasonable.

Family History Discovered and Open Burning at Kuala Penyu!

Last Monday, I went to Kuala Penyu. My cousin was having his wedding there. He was one of the cousins that I just met that day. Seems like his great grandad's father was the one who took care of my grandad (my dad's side) during his flee from the Japanese last time. Wow. And I'm surprised nobody from my aunts or uncles side (my dad's side) came.

family at kuala penyu sabah
And after that we went to the Kuala Penyu Hospital to see his grandma. She has cardiac problem, don't know what. I saw on her bed that she's a cardiac patient only. She didn't recognize my dad, she lali suda ba. When we wanted to leave already, I shook her hand and she talked dusun to me. I was like, looking back to the aunt beside her (her daughter) and she said that my granny asked who I was. Then once again, my dad and her daughter talked to her. Then only she remembered! And she cried...I...was touched, I terus thought of my granma.

I saw this on my way back to Kota Kinabalu. I was on my way from Kuala Penyu to Papar first that.

family at kuala penyu sabah

I was like, oh my god! What was that?!! So I quickly took shots and just to tell the officers of the district or people who are doing this, STOP THIS! Whatever the reason is, it's not right! You're thinning the ozone layer MORE than normal! God where are your brains! Mentang2 di kampung jadi boleh bakar suka-suka hati la?? NO! The government here should make the denda money MORE if anybody makes open fire burning di luar kota! Cuz there are more trees there! Oxygen will be less!

If you've got piles of grass and dead leaves, just put them aside la, let it decompose! Or throw it away somewhere else! Be responsible! My children will be here in this world in the future and I would like them to breathe fresh, clean air please!

Enforcement officers, you should publicize your contact number of complain more! And wider! Cuz I don't know it yet..

Pet is Good for Your Health- And I thought They Give Happiness Only!

If somebody asks me, "Do pets do you any good?". I would say that they make me happy always! But do you guys know that they give you more than just happiness? Medicinenet.com tells us in many ways pets can do us good. Lots of good. I would never have imagined!

Watching fishes swim, or being with a dog or a cat for 15-30 minutes will reduce the stress hormone, cortisol, and serotonin, an important chemical associated with the feeling-good feeling, will be increased!

pets are good for health

Pets lower your blood pressure. A study proved that pet owners have lower blood pressure and lower heart rates than people who do not own a pet, during rest or under stress test.

pets are good for health

Researchers have noted lower levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in people who have pets than those who don't. But this result can be due to the lifestyle factors of pet owners, like, dogs or cats, we walk them, play with them a lot, wash after them, groom them..those are excercise to me!

pets are good for health

Pet owners have a lower risk of dying from any cardiac disease, including heart failure. Research has shown the long-term benefits of owning a cat includes protection for your heart. Over 20 years of one study, people who never owned a cat were 40% more likely to die of a heart attack than those who had. Another study showed that dog owners had a significantly better survival rate one year after a heart attack. .

pets are good for health

People who own dogs tend to be more physically active and less obese than people who don't. Walking your dog strengthens your bones and the muscles around them, thus may reduce the risk of osteoporosis. Secara tidak langsung, they are your exercise buddy! While you're at it, pets can get you to communicate with other pet ownder, thus making you social connections bigger and wider!

pets are good for health

Researchers aren't sure why, but cat owners have fewer strokes than people who don't own any. Miaoooo for cat owners! And me!

pets are good for health

You'll get fewer allergies and more immunity to allergens than other people. Researchers have noted that when children grow up in a home with a dog or cat (even farms with animals) they are less likely to develop allergies. In addition, higher levels of certain immune system chemicals indicate a stronger immune system activation, which will help keep them healthy as they get older.

pets are good for health

It's known that babies shouldn't be around with cats for fear of asthma later on. Researchers found the exact opposite! Children were significantly less likely to develop asthma as they got older. But note this, children whose mothers have cat allergies are x3 more likely to get asthma after early exposure to cats. So beware on this one moms!

pets are good for health

Kids with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) can benefit from working with and keeping a pet. Taking charge of the tasks on a pet care schedule helps a child learn to plan and be responsible. And because the bond between a pet and a child is unconditional love, pets help children with ADHD learn about self-esteem.

pets are good for health

Sensory issues are common among children with autism. Sensory integration activities are designed to help them adjust. They typically find it calming to work with animals. Dogs and horses have both sometimes been incorporated into these activities.

pets are good for health

If you have arthritis,it can be hard to know when you're stretching enough. An article in Arthritis Today advises cat owners to watch how many times your feline stretches every day, and when she does, you do it too. On the other hand, if your pet has arthritis, you can use the effort to manage his to help manage yours. It's like following what you're doing for your dog on it's arthritis like making appointments, exercise, keeping your medicine in the same place you keep your dog's.

pets are good for health

People with rheumatoid arthritis derive benefit from movements like walking and throwing a Frisbee with their pet, helping them to take their thoughts off their own condition.

pets are good for health

Some rehab programs for stroke patients use horses to help facilitate recovery. At places like Xenophon Therapeutic Riding Center California, clients who have had strokes start riding with side walkers and someone leading the horse. Horseback riding provides stretching exercise, which is especially good if one side has been made weaker and helps regain balance and build core strength.

pets are good for health

Xolo, a Mexican hairless dog, is known for generating intense body heat. An organization called Paws for Comfort trains Xolos to serve people with Fibromyalgia and other forms of chronic pain that gets relief from heat. People get relief just by placing their limbs against the dog's body or lying next to it. Some dogs have even been trained to wrap around the neck of a person with chronic neck pain.

pets are good for health

People who have epilepsy will find seizure dogs helpful. These dogs are especially trained to live and work with epilepsy people- bark and alert the parents when a child is having a seizure outside or in another room. Some lie next to a person having a seizure to prevent injury (see below). And some work has been done training dogs to warn before a seizure occurs! This gives the person time to lie down or move away from a dangerous place such as a hot stove. How awesome overseas people are!

pets are good for health

Visits from therapy dogs help patients recovering from devastating illness or an event such as a stroke. Some dogs are trained to understand a range of commands which lets them help people with aphasia (a language disorder common in older adults, particularly those who've had a stroke) feel good when they see the dog understands them, get petted and just be for them.

pets are good for health

People with Alzheimer's will have fewer anxious outbursts. The animal also helps the caregivers feel less burdened. Cats seem to be particularly helpful since they require less care than dogs. =3 Mew?

pets are good for health

Pets are trained to be such great helps! See below for more details!

For people with diabetes, a sudden drop in the level of blood glucose can be dangerous. Dogs can alert their owner about it before it happens -they respond to chemical changes in the body that give off a scent. The alarm gives the owner time to consume food or drink to avoid it. Dogs for Diabetics is a non-profit organization that trains dogs for this purpose.

pets are good for health

Some mental health therapists use a dog in their therapy sessions. Presence of a dog may help someone be more at ease but that's not all. A remark to or about the dog may reveal what's really on a patient's mind. (Story) One therapist tells about a couple in his office who started bickering. The dog, which was sleeping during the session, got up and wanted out. The therapist used that to help the couple see how their fighting affected others (like the dog), especially their children.

Therapists have been known to prescribe a pet as a way of dealing with and recovering from depression. People with AIDS are less likely to be depressed if they own a pet, especially if they're strongly attached.

Cats and dogs both get cancer, and both benefit from research on human cancer. But more and more the opposite is also true. Humans are benefiting from research on their cancers. Dogs and cats can get the same kinds of cancers humans do.

Specially trained dogs can perform tasks that let people with Parkinson's disease maintain their independence (not getting help from another human being =D). These dogs can pick up items, provide balance support, open and close doors and turn lights on with their paws. They can also sense when someone with Parkinson's is "freezing" and touch the foot to let the person keep walking. Groups like the Delta Society can help you find a good service dog!

Children with hypertension gets their blood pressure lowered while petting their dog.
