ATM Safety: Alert Police While Taking Out Money

Safety is utmost important for everyone especially when you're alone and at a place new to you, like me now. xD And you might need to be a bit extra careful when you take out money from your ATM machine, right?

So Here's The Story
Do you know that you can alert the police when you take out your money from the ATM machine instantly? I didn't, until seconds ago an acquaintance of mine emailed me about it. Thanks ATK. =) This is very helpful and crucial when you have a robber threatening your life and you're forced to take out the money right that moment.

Alert Police With Reversed Number
Here's what the email reads...

"When a robber forces you to take money from the ATM, do not argue or resist. You might not know what he or she might do to you. What you should do is to punch your PIN in the reverse mode.

I.e. if your PIN # is 1254, you punch 4521.

The moment you punch in the reverse mode, the money will come out, but will be stuck into the machine half way out and it will alert the Police (security) without the notice of the robber. tz

Every ATM has it; it is specially made to signify danger and help. Not everyone is aware of this."

So spread this message to everybody and lets stop ATM robbers from this moment onwards. A bit hard if you have an 8-digit password like that kan, but it's worth the thinking. xD

Skin Care: One-Ingredient DIY Facial Masks

I always wish I can just do facial masks at home without actually buying those expensive facial masks. I also know that I can just use eggs, mayonnaise, yogurt or even bananas as natural organic face masks and never really know the various methods like some of these below. These are all one-ingredient only for each type of mask and it's really easy to do, even when you're in a hurry, like, 30 minutes before leaving home!

Honey

skin care one ingredient do it yourself facial mask at home
Picture from newshealth.net

Use a cloth damp with warm water and pat skin to open the pores. Smear honey onto the skin and leave it for 15 to 30 minutes. Rinse it off with warm water but then pat your skin dry with cold water to close the pores. Very easy! Honey has antibacterial properties as well as hydrating too!

Raw egg yolk

skin care one ingredient do it yourself facial mask at home
Picture from rosamundwo.com

Spread a raw egg yolk on face and neck, leave it for 30 minutes. Rinse with cool water. Note the
cool word, not icy cold aa. =)

Raw egg white

skin care one ingredient do it yourself facial mask at home
Picture from beautytips.blogliterature.org

Beat the egg white until frothy and spread on your face. Wait until it dries and don't move your facial muscles if possible. Rinse off with warm water. Cold water won't remove it thoroughly and you'll still feel sticky afterwards.

This is very good for those of you who has open pores and blackheads. I suggest you scrub and steam your face first before this so that your pores will be open and the egg white mask can stick to the dirt on your face. =)

Oranges, grapes, lemons and even strawberries

skin care one ingredient do it yourself facial mask at home
Picture from fillyourplate.org

Simply cut any of these fruits and rub gently all over your face. It's that easy! Other than these fruits, think of something citrus-ey and not so acidic to the face.

Banana

skin care one ingredient do it yourself facial mask at home
Picture from viable-herbal.com

Mash one overripe banana and spread onto the face. Rinse off after 15-30 minutes with warm water.

Yogurt

skin care one ingredient do it yourself facial mask at home
Picture from bmwblog.com

My favorite ingredient of all. Not only it is good to be digested, it is also beneficial to our skin if applied externally! Apply on face after cleansing and leave on for 15-20 minutes.

I suggest you put any fruits or yogurt in the fridge before you use it. Cold will make tighten up your face, cool it down and if applied under eyes, can make the dark circles go away! =) You can also blend the fruits or anything together to make it really slimy and thick, all in one mask. =) If there's any extra, you can always eat it. xD

A Rose is A Rose by Susan Ashton

This morning I opened my email inbox and an acquaintance of mine sent me a link to a page titled "A Rose is A Rose". Waited a while for the song to load and read the lyrics together as the music played. It's a very good motivational song and good to listen to when you're down, sad, feeling lonely, hopeless, discouraged and feeling fat like me. xD

I'm going to type out the lyrics for this song and just absorb it all and make the best out of it. Learn something from it like I did. =)

A Rose is A Rose by Susan Ashton Lyric
You're at a standstill,
You're at an impass,
Your mountain of dreams seems harder to climb,
By those who have made you feel like an outcast,
Cause you dare to be different so they're drawing a line,

They say you're a fool,
They feed you resistance,
They tell you'll never go very far,
But they'll be the same ones that stand in the distance,
Alone in the shadow of your shining star,

Just keep on the same road,
And keep on your toes,
And just keep your heart steady as she goes,
And let them call you what they will,
It don't matter,
A rose by any name is still a Rose,

The kindness of strangers,
It seems like a fable,
But they've yet to see what I see in you,
But you can make it if you are able to believe in yourself the way I do,

Just keep on the same road,
And keep on your toes,
And just keep your heart steady as she goes,
And let them call you what they will,
It don't matter,
A rose by any name is still a Rose,

Cause a deal is a deal in the heart of a dream,
And a spade is a spade if you know what I mean,

And a rose, is a rose, is a rose,

To deal with the scoffers, well, it's part of the bargain,
They heckle from back rows and they bark at the moon,
Their flowers are fading in time's bitter garden,
But yours is only beginning to bloom,

Just keep on the same road,
And keep on your toes,
And just keep your heart steady as she goes,
And let them call you what they will,
Just remember...
A rose by any name is still a Rose,

A rose by any name is still a Rose.

Beautiful isn't it? Do you notice the capitalization of the 'R' alphabet at every rose? It has double meaning. =)

I'm happy I read it today, this morning. A very good, happy way to start the day. Why don't you listen to it! Here's the link to that page. =) Beautiful voice too by Susan.

Movie Review: Green Hornet 2011 Starring Jay Chow and Seth Rogen

movie review green hornet 2011 starring seth rogen and cameron diaz and jay chou
Picture from carey2.blogspot.com

This movie Green Hornet (2011) I was quite afraid of not meeting my high standard of expectation. xD Because I know it has Jay Chou in it and thinking it's a chinese film. I was wrong. So wrong. And it did meet up to my expectations!

Green Hornet 2011 Sypnosis
Britt Reid (Seth Rogen) is the son of Los Angeles's most prominent and respected media magnate and perfectly happy to maintain a directionless existence on the party scene- until his father (Tom Wilkinson) mysteriously dies, leaving Britt his vast media empire. Striking an unlikely friendship with one of his father's more industrious and inventive employees, Kato (Jay Chou), they see their chance to do something meaningful for the first time in their lives; fight crime. To get close to the criminals, they come up with the perfect cover: they'll pose as criminals themselves.

Protecting the law by breaking it, Britt becomes the vigilante The Green Hornet as he and Kato hit the streets. Using all ingenuity and skill, Kato builds the ultimate advanced retro weaponry, The Black Beauty- an indestructible car equal parts firepower and horsepower. Rolling in a mobile fortress on wheels and striking the bad guys with Kato's clever gadgets, the Green Hornet and Kato quickly start making a name for themselves, and with the help of Britt's new secretary, Lenore Case (Cameron Diaz), they begin hunting down the man who controls LA's gritty underworld: Benjamin Chudnofsky (Christoph Waltz). But Chudnofsky has plans of his own: to swat down The Green Hornet once and for all.

Del Says...
This movie was nothing like I expected. I mean, I thought it was a chinese film with Jay Chou starring in it and so....you know. xD Not saying I don't like chinese movies, don't get me wrong. I watch them too but Jay Chou? You know. I was wrong. It was both of them, Jay Chou and Seth Rogen. This movie from Sony Pictures is all about action, danger and comedy at the same time. It gets funnier with Jay Chou's expressionless face most of the time. xD

movie review green hornet 2011 starring seth rogen and cameron diaz and jay chou
Picture from http://media.theiapolis.com

There were car chasing, explosions, nuclear bombs, machine guns, awesome gadgets, cool cars to be awed at and this love triangle with Cameron Diaz. Kung fu? A little but it wasn't really with the snake style or what. Just some street fighting with a bit of kung fu. Don't expect much if you're looking for a kung fu film here, the way they fight has a lot of matrix effect there. xD

movie review green hornet 2011 starring seth rogen and cameron diaz and jay chou

This movie is also focuses on how a newspaper company works. Like, how politically involved they can be and how they influence readers's view of certain things happening around them. It's a good movie and I recommend you to watch it. =)

movie review green hornet 2011 starring seth rogen and cameron diaz and jay chou
Picture from movienewz.com

I feel like this movie is a more realistic of what superhero really is. It's impossible for a human to fly, shoot cobwebs, have laser shooting out from their fingertips or even have an x-ray vision. Green Hornet however, is about human trying to fight crime by using modern gadgets and modifying cars- with a little bit of street fighting, though it seemed a little bit too overly awesome for me.

Rating
8/10 Great story, great gadgets, great humor.

Facebook Nightclub City: Fight Night Help Tips

I'm sure your'e pretty much puzzled on how to succeed in the Fight Night party in the most famous clubbing application on Facebook, Nightclub City. I was too, until I've did some trial and errors, with surfing the net for the possible tips to achieve the perfect 20 fights in the 10-minute period.

The Story
So here's the thing. My club in the DJ Alley gets to have 8 parties and one of it is the Fight Night party.

Nightclub City Fight Night Party Sypnosis
Everyone loves a good bar fight and some will even pay to watch. Cash in on this by throwing a Fight Night party.

Fight Night Goals
Earn minimum cash of $15,000
Boot at least 20 troublemakers

Note: Troublemakers means the ones who start the fight, not both of the troublemakers.

How To Start a Fight?
In order to start a fight, you need;
Jerks in your club. A lot of them if you can, as they usually are the ones who starts the fights.
Have big space for your visitors to fight
Low luxury and popularity
Finally, double the amount of your normal bouncers. I started Fight Night with 3 bouncers and ended up with 5 bouncers. The fights just broke off like chicken eggs in the morning!

Facebook Nightclub City Strategy Help Tips
So I've decided to finally clear all my stuff in my club and put the essential items only. I did this one day before the party so that my popularity will decrease in time for the party. I put these items only;

DJ Booth- DJ System 5000
Dance floors- The Industrial Dance Floor
Two bars with Bar Storages- Retro Trendy Bar - I didn't use the cheaper ones as they don't affect the luxury level
Several seats that has only 10 luxury each- I put 9 of them.

facebook nightclub city fight night party help tips

In the end of this re-decoration, my club's popularity was only around 350 and luxury 120.

During Fight Night Party
During the party, it was super crazy at the start! The Jerks started to fight all the way like, one second at this corner and another over there and another and another and another! It was like fireworks! I had like, 3 fights at a time, twice!

facebook nightclub city fight night party help tips

Below is a snapshot of my achievement for Fight Night party, several seconds before it ended. I got $36,622 and booted 30 out of 20 troublemakers! Yay me!

Quote of The Day: "My Favorite Thing is To Go Where I've Never Been"

“My favorite thing is to go where I’ve never been.”
― Diane Arbus

real simple daily quote try new things

Source from Real Simple.

This is something interesting. I've always tried something new at our favorite restaurants, favorite snacks, new type of chocolate, new make up tricks to try as well.

Sure the result of trying new stuff won't be 100% happy and satisfactory all the time, but isn't it intriguing to feel and know the fact that there might be a chance that there's something better than what you're having or taking right now? I think it's worth to try, everytime. =) When you achieve something that's greater, something better, something that you've never tried before, never felt, never tasted before, it's magical. =)

Vegetarians Needs These Essential Nutrients

Are you a vegetarian? I'm not. xD Being a vegetarian must be a tough one since you all eat non-meat or some, even non-dairy products. Meat supplies proteins, iron, fat and other nutrients that you might be lacking in since you avoid these type of food. Here are the nutrients that you need to have a balanced diet and still remain vegan. Source from Care2.

Beans, legumes, lentils and peas
Fermented soy products- tempeh, miso and natto
Free range eggs
Raw milk, cheese and yogurt
Nuts and seeds.
Non-dairy nut and seeds milk

Tip: Avoid Pseudo-meats and other pretend protein foods because they're highly processed food.

Iron and Zinc
Iron gives you strong and healthy blood. Averaga RDA for woman of 19-50 years old is 15mg, woman over 51 years is 8mg and adult male is also 8mg.

Zinc is responsible for cellular metabolism, immune function, protein synthesis, wound healing, DNA synthesis and cell division. Average RDA for adult women is 8mg and men 11mg.

vegetarian and vegan needs nutrients such as protein fat vitamin b12 and iron and zinc

You can get your irons and zinc from;
Green leafy vegetables such as kale, collards, spinach, broccoli and cabbage
Nuts, seeds such as cashews and almonds.
Beans, lentils, peas, legumes- in cooked and sprouted form
Fruits and dried fruits such as dates, apricots and raisins
Date syrup and molasses (I love molasse!)
Whole grains and whole grain flours

Calcium
Who doesn't need a calcium isn't human. Your body needs calcium to maintain strong bones and teeth and also makes sure that your nervous system functions properly. RDA for adults is 1,000- 1,200mg.

You can get calcium from;
Dairy products such as yogurt, milk and cheese
Sea vegetables such as arame, wakame, dulse, hijiki and kelp. I wonder if seaweed is in this category as well. It should be right?
Dark greens such as kale, broccoli and chinese cabbage

Vitamin B12
Vegetarians and vegans who don't eat eggs or dairy need to take this nutrient in the form of a B complex supplement. RDA for adults is 1.5 microgram.

You can get vitamin B12 from;
Fermented soy
Shitake mushrooms
Sea vegetables
Algae

The list above contain something similar to vitamin B12 but it doesn't work in the body the same was as vitamin B12. Some nutritional yeast food products are said to have some vitamin B12.

Essential Fatty Acids
Body needs good quality fats to help absorb the fat soluble vitamins- vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E and vitamin K to regulate cholesterol, provide energy and maintain hearth health as well as other major, important functions. RDA for omega fatty acids is 1-2 tablespoons.

vegetarian and vegan needs nutrients such as protein fat vitamin b12 and iron and zinc

You can get your fatty acids from;
Sesame oil
Raw butter and clarified butter
Extra virgin olive oil
Coconut oil
Omega 3 oils such as walnut, hemp and flax oils.

China Rice Grains Contain Dangerous Heavy Metals

In Beijing, the rice produced (dikeluarkan) by China is polluted with heavy metals since years ago. BH Harian reported.

The Story
Up to 10% of the total are polluted with dangerous heavy metals such as cadmium since several years ago but not much had been done to expose this health-threatening situation, according to magazine New Century.

The magazine reported that during the amazing industrial growth of China, activities such as mining pops up all over the place and hence releases chemical elements such as cadmium, arsenic, mercury and other dangerous heavy metals.

Polluted Soil, Polluted Food
These metals are spread wide open via air and water and pollute the vast soils in China. Food chain pollution had been existing since several years ago. For example, polluted corn grows on polluted soil, polluted corn gets eaten by polluted chickens, polluted chickens get eaten by polluted...oh no. Gets eaten by humans finally. Same goes to the rice grains- rice grains gets polluted, we get sick eating them. Eventually.

This report above was based on the year 2007, 4 years ago and was focused on several inland villages in southern China with mining areas and industrial areas nearby. The citizens, or should I say villagers, especially the old ones, suffer health problems such as bone disease.

It Gets Scarier
Amongst the grains, rice has the strongest absorption rate of cadmium that always seeps into the water used for paddy fields's water system near plumbum, tin and copper mines.

Bottom line? Don't get China rice grains. Period. Thank god mom buys Malaysian rice. xD Beras wangi all the way baby~

Lipton Tea Had Animal Testing!

My goodness! I never knew that Unilever, maker of Lipton Teas, had done animal testings to experiment with their teas! My gosh! Care2.com reported.

lipton tea from unilever had animal testing for their teas

Animal Testings
According to PETA, Unilever did these experiments on animals;
Rabbits were fed high-fat and cholesterol diets and tea to see if the tea protected their arteries.
Mice were used to see if tea would decrease a deliberately created inflammation on their bowels. How cruel is this??
Rats and piglets were also tested on with various kinds of sufferings inflicted upon them to test for health benefits from tea.

These tests were conducted to see if there were any health benefits so that the company can put those healthy, marvelous benefits of their tea in their ads.

Animals that don't heal up or get better or worse, were euthanized. Something like what you do when your pet is going to die painfully and you make it a quick, painless one for them at the vet.

How Now?
PETA was campaigning against Unilever's animal testings and it worked out successfully. Unilever gave out an official statement;

“Given the leadership role our tea category takes in the area of environmental sustainability and the ethical sourcing of tea, Unilever is committing to no animal testing for our tea and tea-based beverages, with immediate effect.”

Thank god. To think that the famous brand Lipton was produced from animal sufferings are unbearable and unbelievable, I think this is a good thing. The result is good and congratulations to PETA for their hard work!

My First Digi Broadband

On the day I had my lunch at Palm Cafe, Centre Point, I got myself a broadband wireless from Digi! It's my first broadband and I hope I'm not making a bad decision here. xD

We first went up to the Digi Specialized Store at Api-Api Centre but then the guard told us that the centre had ran out of stock for the modems. Ooooookkaaayyyy....and so he told us to go to their branch at Centre Point 2nd floor.

bought digi broadband at centre point kota kinabalu sabah on february 2011

I knew it was this type of shop- kiosk, only. xD So we got there and saw some broadband packages on pamphlets. Nice. =)

They sure got a lot of modems to be sold.

bought digi broadband at centre point kota kinabalu sabah on february 2011

There were three Digi broadband packages to choose from;
RM38 for 3GB quota, only good from 7am till 7pm daily.
RM68 for 3GB quota.
This one I forgot but the website says it's RM108 for 10GB quota.

There's another one at RM158 for 16GB but it wasn't stated there on the brochure. The girl said that all of the packages's broadband speed is the same- 700kbps. The only difference is the quota- the higher you need for a month, the higher the price you have to pay. The good thing about Digi Broadband is that if you exceed your quota, you won't be charged extra, just that the connection will be slower. Other broadband providers will charge you- that's not a good idea.

So hun paid RM100 for registration fee and RM30 only for the first month of using. Payment was told that we can make it at any Digi centres. =D Sweet! We can pay online but alang-alang la since hun pays his bills manually at Digi too. xD

Thanks hun!

I can't say much about this yet as I haven't really got time to test it out all day. Will be doing it in 1-2 months time. =)

First Valentine's Day card on Cityville.

This is my Cityville's very first Valentine's Day card that I'd sent to my friends ever since it started off!

first cityville valentine's day card on february 2011

I've decided to do a gay thing among the townspeople. The old man with the..good-looking construction person. xD I used birds because I think in the old days, people use birds instead of flowers or chocolates.

I'm going to do the prizes for the Valentine's Day season in Cityville soon! =D

Quote of The Day: "Patience is Bitter, but The Fruit is Sweet"

quote of the day proposing man with flowers

“Patience is bitter, but the fruit is sweet.”
― Lida Clarkson

Don't rush into things and always be patient with whatever you're facing against. As in, be patient on the road, be patient on the line, be patient with old people, be patient with sick people even....be patient with your kids...your boss....or the palm tress to bear fruit...you know. =)

Lunch at Palm Cafe, Centre Point

Yesterday, the day my brother came home, hun and I went out and just spent time together before my flight...probably next week. Went to Centre Point. ^^

Had lunch at Palm Cafe at Palm Square, 4th floor.

We Ordered...
Wantan Ho fish with hot milo. =) The milo was delicious! The fish could be softer really...it was hard to chew it down man.

lunch wantan ho fish and sweet and sour chicken with milo and chinese tea at palm cafe centre point kota kinabalu sabah

Hun had sweet and sour chicken with iced chinese tea. On the lower left corner you can see the Olympus logo from my camera's baggy. It came off! God I'm so rough. xD Unknowingly rough, really. Don't know how it could come off, I didn't do anything.

So the first thing he does after reaching for the spoon and fork was getting the sauce over his rice...he loves to do this.

A Smiling Picture of Him
I finally got to take a smiling picture of him! xD This, as you can see, was candid. Too bad it was half-faced. =( But better than nothing~ =D

Greeting Brother from Egypt at MAS Airport

Last night, around 8.50pm a lot of people were at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport to greet their children, relatives from Egypt. It was crazy, the 2nd terminal of the arrival port was packed with people looking at the gateway, a lot of cars were parked in front of it, not so much on others that we had to park further 2 meters away from it.

See how many there were! The outside had just as much of traffic as this.

A Little Bit Late...
Koko (brother in chinese, we siblings address each other like this one xD) told us that he'll be arriving at 8.30pm. But around 8.40pm only tourists came out, Koreans I think. Then finally, people got excited to go over the entrance and came out....err..somebody. People crowded around him, thanking him and all. It was a short meeting with the public as he marched out with the pilots behind him.

We thought the students were held for a while to be interviewed or something..

They Finally Came Out!
After 5 more minutes....came the huge wave of students. All looked tired, but absolutely seemed happy to be here, finally in Sabah.

There he was, so distinctive among others. xD He's around 6 feet, like my dad. xD
