Malaysians Adivsed To Postpone Egypt Flights

Ministry Deputy Foreign Minister A. Kohilan, advised Malaysian citizens to postpone trips or unimportant visits to Egypt due to the tension rising in that country. Berita Harian Online reported.

Our Malaysian officials will be evaluating the situation there tomorrow, Tuesday.

I'm not surprised this statement is given out as I've seen on the news, people are protesting more and more everyday and tourists were seen stranded at the airports.

Malaysian Officials Heading to Egypt for Evaluation

Our Malaysian officials will be sent to Egypt tomorrow Tuesday to monitor the situation there and ensure the safety of our Malaysians, including my brother too, hopefully xD, The Star Online reported.

Look everywhere especially Al-Jazeera news, they're having chaos down there and my brother told us that he can actually see protesters walking down his street in Cairo. Scary...wonder how that feels.

The Team
The team, comprising five government officials from the Foreign Ministry, National Security Council in the Prime Minister's Department and also Higher Education department.

A. Kohilan Pillay, Ministry Deputy Foreign Minister gave out a statement today, Monday during a press conference at the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations at Jalan Wisma Putra;

"I have been asked to follow the team to monitor the situation there and ensure our students and other Malaysian citizens are safe."

They all will evaluate the situation there in Egypt and if there's a need to evacuate Malaysians there, including students.

Kohilan also advised Malaysian to postpone their flights there at this moment.

Our 'Insiders' in Egypt
Higher Education Minister, Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said that the Malaysian Embassy and Malaysian Students Department (MSD) in Cairo are trying to ensure their safety as the situation has become worse.

"Our officers are going to their houses to check on their safety and advise them to store food, avoid crowd and not to get involved in demonstrations."

"The students must be responsibile for their own security as they can't expect embassy or MSD officers to be there all the time."

Khaled also said that the Government (not sure Malaysia or Egypt) was studying options available for the 11,000 Malaysians in Egypt and may relocate them to Jordan or Syria when necessary.

Nightclub City on Facebook: New Look, New Outfit!

Do you play Nightclub City on Facebook? It's an addictive game! I got hooked ever since I started to play and can't get enough of it since.

I saw one of my guests on my "Glamorous" club having this new funky hair or curls with a straight short bang upfront. I was like, "Hey I want those!" Besides, it's been a while since I had a new look.

2 minutes later, tadaaaa~ xD I got it by just clicking 2-3 times! I changed my look entirely! My hair is $75,000, my top is from previous one, $10,000, my bottom skirt is $15,000 and my shoes are from the free one in white color. I don't like the rest- open-toe shoes nor sneakers. Doesn't fit with my entire look.

But I'm pleased. =)

I was thinking of making my hair blonde but I thought that wouldn't be me. I'd feel like not a Malaysian then. xD So the red one is a nice color- it pops and in between of a dark and bright shade.

Sabah Reserve Players Charged with Robbery at Likas Square Condotel

Three teenage members of the Sabah Reserve League have been charged with robbery by Magistrate Nuruhuda under Section 457 and 34 of the Penal Code. All three are the breadwinners of their own families. - bonology.com reported.

sabah reserve league players dendy lowa, leopold alfonso otong robbery at likas square condotel in kota kinabalu sabah on january 2011

The trio, consisting of 19 year-old Dendy Lowa (Tenom), 20 year-old Leopold Alfonso Otong (Inanam) and 17-year-old teenager (name not mentioned) from Beaufort, had burgled an apartment on the 4th floor of Likas Square Condotel and took away RM1,070 cash and a handphone worth around RM400. This was done aroud 5.30am, 23 January 2011.

If they're convicted, they can be jailed up to 14 years and fined.

Status
A trial has been set, 11-13 April 2011 by the magistrate. Two accused have been released on RM2,000 bail each, with a deposit of RM600 with two local sureties. The third teenager was released with RM1,500 bail, deposited RM500 with two local sureties.

At first, prosecuting officer Chief Inspector Ismail Mohamad Razali proposed a RM8,000 bail on each of the teens but then their counsel, Nelson Anggang applied for the bail to be reduced for the three are the ones who earn money for their family, under contract to play football and hence need to train (for Sabah) and also they have "pleaded innocence" and so shouldn't be punished to pay a higher bail amount.

I wonder how come such teenagers of ages less than 20 years old can manage to break into a house at Likas Square Condotel? Is the security there not enough? Or the teens are just too smart?

Quote of The Day: "Each Moment In Time We Have It All, Even When We Think We Don’t"

“Each moment in time we have it all, even when we think we don’t.”
― Melody Beattie

Del Say...
A quote from Real Simple. I often feel like I don't have anything great like other people, ever. Some are;
Thinking I don't have enough money or other people have more money than I do.
Thinking my clothes are super out-dated.
Thinking my house is the ugliest in KK.
Thinking my hair isn't as nice like models have in the commercial.
Thinking my Guess purse wallet isn't enough.
Thinking my heels aren't as nice as the one in cracked heel commercials.

..and a lot more! I know some of you must feel something like these too. I mean come on, we ladies always think everything isn't enough, and that goes to the gents too.

Read back the quote, “Each moment in time we have it all, even when we think we don’t", I feel so appreciative towards every little thing I have right now in my life. Then it occurred to me- what about those who are living under a leaking roof? What about those who can't afford RM50+ clothes? What about those who had chemotherapy treatment for cancer and lost their hair? What about those with cracked heels and super deep lines and wrinkles around them? What about those who don't have a cat, who don't have parents, who don't have something to be proud of?

And so I start to fall back to the ground. I want to quote what my dad always say to us kids, "Syukur dan sabar" (Be grateful and patient). And so I shall, starting now.

I think these Quotes of the Day are a good addition to my blog. I think I'll make it the major thing. Soon. =)

Karamunsing Complex Block C is Dangerous

Malaysia-today.net reported about the dangers at Karamunsing Complex (Kompleks Karamunsing) today. The public has been concerned about the building and investigation was carried out by the owner.

Investigation...
The staff of 7,8 and 9th floor owner, Suria Group, reported cracking sounds inside the building and got worried. Suria then set out a reg. Professional Engineer Ir. Tsen to carry out investigation and declared that the 3 floors are unsafe. Holy cow! And it's the top floor! Wonder how are the floors beneath it? Tsen then presented his report to a community by DKK called High Risk Committee and below are the minutes;

"There were deflection as much as 3" or more on all the 3 floors. Certain crucial reinforcement were apparently not in the correct position resulting in very short lever-arm and hence structurally inadequate. With age and the effect of creeps, the deflection can only get worst. The 3 floors were reported to be in a "plastic" stage, and it was declared unsafe."

Whoa. Bad construction work by the builders for sure. It seems that it's the Block C that is having this problem here. Not sure about the rest of the blocks tho. But if I am one of the tenants, I would want to know my shop's structure too when I see this. xD

Hope there'll be some work to make it good again or people might start moving out man.

Homemade Rose Water Recipe DIY

Here's a recipe on how to make your own rose water at home! Care2 provided the recipe, so thank you Care2 and author Annie B. Bond!

What is Rose Water?
I've heard numerous benefits of this water as well as it's essential oils for skin care use. I've heard of mostly that it is...
Anti-aging
Moisturizing
Soothing

homemade rose water recipe from care2
Picture from care2.com

And other stuff that involves the natural chemicals in it that gives off other wonderful effects, and thus making it's essential oil 50% more expensive than other oils, normally.

Rose Water Recipe
Prepare a brick and heat-safe stainless steel or glass quart bowl before commencing this recipe. Now let's begin the ingredient preparation! =)

2-3 quarts fresh roses or rose petals (2 quarts= 9.31 cups, according to a conversion of US dry quart at http://www.hoptechno.com/)
Water
Ice cubes or crushed ice

Hmm sounds easy enough, ingredients say so. Let's hope the process would be too! xD

Directions
In the center of a large pot (the speckled blue canning pots are ideal) with an inverted lid (a rounded lid), place a fireplace brick (you know the orange brick for building houses? Yeah that one.). On top of the brick place the bowl. Put the roses in the pot; add enough flowers to reach the top of the brick. Pour in just enough water to cover the roses. The water should be just above the top of the brick.

Place the lid upside down on the pot. Turn on the stove and bring the water to a rolling boil, then lower heat to a slow steady simmer. As soon as the water begins to boil, toss two or three trays of ice cubes (or a bag of ice) on top of the lid.

You’ve now created a home still! As the water boils the steam rises, hits the top of the cold lid, and condenses. As it condenses it flows to the center of the lid and drops into the bowl. Every 20 minutes, quickly lift the lid and take out a tablespoon or two of the rose water. It’s time to stop when you have between a pint and a quart of water that smells and tastes strongly like roses.

Whoa that sounds very easy!! It's like the trick we use when we're in desert with no water, so we use some plastic with a container beneath to trap condensed water beneath it. Fascinating! I think this recipe can be tried to make other herbs as well!

My Personal DNA Test

I got this personality test from my dear Convent friend, Lenn. She said this test is somewhat 80-90% true. I'm bored right now, so why not try it for myself? xD

About Personal DNA test
We've developed a new kind of personality test which is free, fun, fast and accurate. Our test has been designed by a team of professional psychologists. It employs innovative answering techniques, allowing for increased accuracy and an enjoyable process.

The proces is about 30 minutes, I did mine in 21 minutes. Pretty interesting how they do the test.

Result
Leader

Your solid grounding in the practicalities of life, along with your self-assuredness and your willingness to appreciate new things make you a LEADER.
Uisyemen...

You're in touch with what is going on around you and adept at remaining down-to-earth and logical.
True2.

Although you're detail-oriented, this doesn't mean that you lose the big picture.
Sooo true!

You tend to find beauty in form and efficiency, as opposed to finding it in broad-based, abstract concepts.
Hmmm...depends on what things it's saying here.

Never one to pass on an adventure, you're consistently seeking and finding new things, even in your immediate surroundings.
Yeap!

Because of this eagerness to pursue new experiences, you've learned a lot; your attention to detail means that you gain a great deal from your adventures.
That's great. More experience for Delilah please~

The intellectual curiosity that drives you leads you to seek out causes of and reasons behind things.
Yeap2. Maybe sometimes I get into trouble for doing such thing. xD

Your confidence gives you the potential to take your general awareness and channel it into leadership.
Uuuu...this is a great news.

You're not set on one way of doing things, and you often have the skills and persistence to find innovative ways of facing challenges.
I'm a flexible person! xD

You are well-attuned to your talents, and can deal with most problems that you face.
True2. Hey Lenn, how many % you say yours were true again? I'd say mine is 100%! xD

You're not one to force your positions on a group, and you tend to be fair in evaluating different options.
Very true! I don't believe in forcing and I'm not okay with the thought of it even. I'm straight.

You are balanced in your approach to problem-solving, not letting your emotions hold you up.
Ahaa...(still thinking) sometimes my emotions get in my way...sometimes.

You do your own thing when it comes to clothing, guided more by practical concerns than by other people's notions of style.
I see some style I like, see the price, then see how comfortable/functional it is. Sometimes, I'd just see the style and buy it straight away without even trying. I'm spontaneous too remember? xD

The control you feel over your life is empowering to you-- you believe in your abilities and acknowledge your shortcomings. Explanations of the world that focus on destiny or fate don't really interest you. You take responsibility for what goes wrong in your life, and also for what goes well.
I give 20% trust on faith, destiny, God's will...bla bla bla. The rest is how we'll execute God's will, which is via our own decisions, choices and actions.

Animated

♥ You are outgoing, comfortable with others, and up for anything, which makes you ANIMATED.
I feel like Minnie Mouse when I read "animated". Just because she's a girl and...animatedly famous.  xD

♥ Some people find crowds and parties exhausting, but not you! You are able to be yourself in many situations.
Why ruin the fun right? xD So many people to discover!

♥ Sometimes it is hard for you to understand why others feel the way they do, but that doesn't stop you from trusting them or having faith that they are good people.
Hmmmm..this can be applied to a best friend of mine or my mother. Can't think of anybody else but them both. xD

♥ You know the world is complicated and that there is often more than one side to a story, so you are careful not to make judgments about others too hastily.
True! Never judge before asking the real thing FROM BOTH SIDES! Or maybe even 5 sides...xD

♥ You would rather experience the world than sit back and observe it—you are not one to sit on the sidelines.
Yeap! I want the spotlight please! Not wanting fame or anything, life's short, you know? Don't sit back and stay at home. Get out, learn new stuff. Jangan jadi "katak di bawah tempurung".

♥ You are an independent thinker and don't get too worried about how others might perceive you—you are not self-conscious about being the active, engaged person that you are.
True. I listen but I don't worry about what others say to me, unless they're healthy/family/my cats concerns. xD

♥ Although you have a keen understanding of different people's life circumstances, you occasionally have trouble seeing why people get so upset and emotional about things—they should just lighten up and have fun!
I think this means like, over-jealousy, over-sad, over-panicking, overly-possessive, overly-commanding. You know.

♥ In addition to having faith in the world, you have faith in the people around you—you trust others to do the right thing and to be honest.
Yeap. Just like how honest I am. But if you betray that trust...that's another story. =)

Here's the link to My personalDNA Report

My Personality Chart
The statistics are based on the number of test-takers like myself who put lower value than I did. For example, "if Confidence is at 80, that means that 80% of people entered lower values for confidence questions than you did". This is interesting. I saw 4 biggest percentages which was;
Openness- 100%
Confidence- 96%
Agency- 96% (not so sure what this means..)
Earthy/Imaginative- 84%

Yay for me! I'm 100% more open than those who took the test and beat out 96% of them for Confidence and Agency! xD Tho I don't know what that means...

They even put my character in graphs! Hover for the description on each color!

Now a free man with a deadly to-do list in hand, he's finally on his mission...but with two men on his trail- a veteran cop (Billy Bob Thornton) just days from retirement, ad a young egocentric hitman (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) with a flair for the art of killing and a newfound worthy opponent. The hunter is also the hunted. It's a do or die race to the list's finish as the mystery surrounding his brother's murder deepens, and new details emerge along the way hinting that Driver's list may be incomplete.

This movie was super fun to watch! Story was tight, properly thought about and the Mustang was soooo hawtie hot-hot! Just the perfect fit for The Rock's biography (let's just call him The Rock, I like it than Dwayne xD ). Suspense was brewing in the middle of the movie for he thought his job was done and he can now forget about it. Then informants told otherwise.

The Rock was out to kill those who killed his brother, to avenge his gruesome death that he still remembers until now. Then he met one of those who were involved and found out that he had turned over and new leaf and sought solace in giving out religious speeches to townspeople. The Rock had a hard time figuring whether to kill or not. xD

Missing Keris in Sembulan Mystery Solved

Do you know that our "Keris" monument-statue situated at the "busy junction leading to the airport and the city" is missing? I didn't! Until seconds ago! It was one of the “Malaysia Day” monuments erected in the late 1960s by former chief minister Mustapha Harun to mark the formation of Malaysia and also to commemorate Kota Kinabalu's change of name from previous name, "Jesselton".

keris monument missing in kota kinabalu sabah january 2011 answer

Masidi Said...

Masidi Manjun, our Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister reported to Free Malaysia Today that the monument was "rotting inside".

“The inside was rotting and so the PWD (Public Works Department or Jabatan Kerja Raya-JKR) decided to remove it for safety reasons."

“Many people thought it was made of metal. No, it is not… I think it is probably made of carbon or a different type of biodegradable material. So PWD needs to repair it or build a new one.”

Manjun's not sure whether the keris will be repaired and placed at the same spot, it's up to PWD>

People thought it was stolen for it was removed without any announcement! xD This dagger has always been discussed over it's 40 years of existence, some said that it "would bring bad luck to the state as the blade was pointing skyward." Don't know about you, but I'm not so superstitious like that.

Quote of The Day: “Wealth Consists Not in Having Great Possessions But in Having Few Wants”

A daily quote from Real Simple.

“Wealth consists not in having great possessions but in having few wants.”
― Esther de Waal

quote of the day pink piggy bank

Hmmm....I think...this can be true, if the wants aren't exceeding their wealth. Say I have properties and am worth...1 million. Then say I just want one thing in this world- the new 2011 Ferrari 458 Italia. It's 2 millions! So I have 1 million, and I want a 2 million thing. Just one thing. So I borrow money and I'd be still in debt. I'd be super poor and might be marked bankrupt or blacklisted by banks. Not good.

So I think this quote “Wealth consists not in having great possessions but in having few wants" can only apply if the want is within the wealth's range and will still be rich after getting that want.

Snowy is Sick- 9th Day

Today Snowy's activity was sleeping all day! Like I only see him sleeping all the time, seriously! Maybe because it rained...

Since he's feeling much much much better and is a somewhat picture of health, I decided to snap his photos! It must've been so boring reading my update on Snowy without any pictures. I just don't want to 'freeze' the moment where he's sick. Just happy, healthy times. =)

Snowy was sleeping in the middle of the day, on the coffee table, and it was like around 12 man! He was sleeping so soundly, like super2 deep in sleep! I move or got up to go to the kitchen, he didn't even twitch! xD

He looked so peaceful here...my little baby . This is the most beautiful picture of him ever since he got sick that day.

His Appetite
Hmmm it seems that he eats a lot than during the day now. Because after breakfast, whenever I give him something to eat, he'd puke it out. Like, 5 seconds after swallowing it. Pretty...sad to watch really because almost every time I fed him he'd puke out. A bit worried about this...but he's really changing his interest! He's more of a fish today than chicken or dried food. =)

His behaviour? Well, the above says it all. He just slept all day man, can't say much. xD

So here was my problem. Dad called me this afternoon saying that he wants to change the days of his flights by Air Asia. So I puzzled. "I've never done this before..how la?" So I went to their website and checked their FAQ section.

FAQ Answer
Question: Can I change flights?
You may change flights up to forty-eight (48) hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time, subject to the following conditions:
(a) if the new flight booked is in a lower fare class than that of the cancelled booked flight, the difference in fares will not be refunded to the guest
(b) if the new flight booked is in a higher fare class than that of the cancelled booked flight, the difference in fares shall be paid by the guest before the cancellation or change can be made;
(c) the change is not confirmed until it is reflected in your booking itinerary
(d) route change is not allowed
Changes can be made via Manage My Booking, at all our Sales Office/Airport Sales Counter and through our call centre. A change fee is applicable.

Okay...so I tried to call their Premium Customer Service Line at 600 85 9999 and boy was it super expensive!! RM 1.95 per minute man! That's like, 1 iced milo per minute! Well..I wanted it fast so I tried calling. Was told to wait and feared the RM1.95/minute threat, I hung up. Tried to call again. Hung up. And tried. And tried for several times more. I lost a total of RM18 right there for nothing! I could've just gone to their counter, my gas wouldn't have cost so much!

Credit Card?
So I finally managed to get hold to one of their assistants there around 5pm and he asked for a credit card number. OOOssshhhh....I don't have a card to use and mom was away! So there goes my RM6...and guess what? I only have until 8.45pm just now to change the flight dates or the confirmed flight would be burned. He also said the changing fee for 1 flight would be RM95.

Mom Came Home
So finally, mom came home and I can finally get the freaking thing done. Couldn't call, engaged. So many times. Thought my phone wasn't working, so I called using dad's phone. Engaged too. So what to do??

Change Air Asia Flight Itinerary Online
Thank God and God Bless Air Asia for this feature! I can change my date online! Wohoo! Let me put them down in points...

So I went to their home page, hover to the "My Flights" button on the left side of the screen and clicked "Manage My Booking".
You'll see three stuff to click- "My Booking", "Status of Flight(s)" and "Baggage Tracking Service".
Click on "Manage Booking" button at the "My Booking" box.
So fill in the forms.
"Booking number" would be the a set of codes of numbers and letters that was at the top of your itinerary page.
"Departure Day": Put in the date you were suppose to fly.- the one you want to change. Don't put the month yet!
"Departure month": Put in the month that you're supposed to fly.
"Departure year": The year you're suppose to fly- 2011, 2012, etc.
Aaand the rest you should know right. =)
Click "Find Itinerary"
You'll see 2 sets of things, if you've booked 2 flights- return ones.
Tick on the flight that you want to change the date on and pick a date from the drop-down menu underneath it.
Select your dates~
You'll be taken to a similar page like you're to search flights to book online. Check that the date is correct then confirm the purchase by clicking the button on the bottom right.
You'll be taken back to the home page of the "My Booking" page and you'll notice that the flight details has been changed.
Click on the button on the top right, saying "Change" or something, can't remmeber! Sorry. This is to confirm that you want those dates that you've chosen and proceed to pay the price.
Just follow the instructions, just like buying flights online. Pay with your card, then congratulations! You've already changed your flight date(s)!

RM90 Fee Only
Hmmm I'm puzzled. I was told by that Air Asia guy that the fee to change 1 flight would be RM95, but I was only charged RM90. Chinese New Year discount I guess. xD

I Paid For...
Well let me repeat the idea of the payment. You're to pay a Changing Flight Fee of RM95 (or RM90 in my case), airport tax of course (some flights don't), the difference of the previous and current flight change (if the current one is higher than previous one) and finally, the Convenience Fee of RM12 (not sure if it's a constant thing with all cards/anybody or not).

Snowy is Sick- 8th Day

Snowy today, it's been 8 days since last week Monday where he started to not eating and smelly saliva was dripping out from his mouth like stinking fish drippings.

His Diet...
Like how he ate yesterday Sunday, he ate just around the same amount but he's starting to eat fishes already! =D Like, fresh fried fishes I mean! He still can throw whatever he eats sometimes but this morning my mom told he totally ate a lot more than the day before. =)

His Behaviour
Hmmm...this is a puzzle. He's around me most of the time, whether it's just an arm away or just within the same room as me. I don't see him going outside, maybe 2-3 times to God knows where, but it was just for a short while. Most of the time he'd be next to my guppy fishes, sitting or taking naps, on the couch or even next to my mouse pad sleeping. xD He never does this for before he got sick, he was usually not seen unuless it's lunch time or late evening.

He still looks a bit sick to me, but his body no longer feels hot. =)

Child Abuse Cases 2010 Triples from 2009 in Sabah

Health officials at a hospital in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah has detected a sharp increase of number of child abuse cases for the last year 2010. And it's worrying the authorities. I'm starting to get worried as well.

The Figures
A total of 142 child abuse cases were detected by the Suspect Child Abuse and Neglect (Scan) team at Sabah Women and Children Hospital. Gee that's pretty neat.

The chairman team Dr Fauziah Zainal Abidin said that the figure is almost 3x higher than 2009's figure of only 59. Holy cow! Add 8 more and it is the exact tripled amount!

Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun Visit
Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun, Briefing state Community Development and Consumer Affairs Minister visited the hospital on Friday, commenting that there are average one or two children died due to injuries caused by their own parents every year. These parents should just rot in hell if you ask me.

"Some children who we felt would not be safe to be left with their parents were sent to welfare centres."

Worse...
Datuk Azizah said that the number of such cases detected in hospitals is concerning as only an estimated 10% of abuse cases were reported.

"There are many reasons why abuse cases are not reported, including society's lack of awareness of the law, fear of meddling in other people's private lives and reluctance to get involved with the authorities," she added.

She also said that the problem...probably one of the problems la, is that the common view of that children have no rights and child abuse is a family matter and not for the community to hush-hush about. Jaga tepi kain sendiri la it means. I disagree. If it gets out of hand and the parents are like devils from hell, why not you jump in and stop them? I mean we can all report about this, but I'm not so sure who or where to report of such cases. I'm not even sure what child abuse means! xD Thank God I never seen any physical abuse going on in my life or else I'd regret not doing anything for my ignorance.

"Without early intervention, children who have been abused will grow up to become abusive parents. Society cannot continue to pretend to be ignorant any longer on matters of child abuse and neglect."

"To overcome this problem, we need the involvement of all agencies, organisations and individuals. Society needs to change by taking interest in children's welfare and wellbeing."

Agree.

Snowy is Sick- 7th Day

Today is the first day of Snowy's medicine course! He has been given...err I mean I was given antibiotic, vitamin B Complex and pain killer, which mom doesn't approve of consuming it. xD

Today Snowy felt heavier now. He's getting his normal weight back. The first day I sent him to Sabah Animal Medical Centre on his first day, he was just 3.1 kg. Normally he's about 4kg! xD

I kinda feel he ate a bird yesterday...because I saw bird feathers on the kitchen floor. Don't think it would be the stray cats, they wouldn't want to put their food in the house for they fear us humans and would run at the sight of us. So who else can it be but our little monkey cat? xD

Early Wake Up Massage
Pretty happy by this, but not sooooo happy about it either! Why? Because I was forced by Snowy to wake up at 4.48am today! He massaged my arms and neck just like how he use to do before he got sick! I was like, "awwww he got better already...." but at the same time, "Eeeeiiiisssshhh kacau saja dia ni tau". xD I was super sleepy!

What do I mean by he massaging? He really do massage! He'd put both of his hands on any flesh on any part of my body, mostly my neck and my arms and start pushing his paws back and forth, clawing into my skin as he goes upfront. It was a bother and a happy thing at the same time, that means he's getting much much better!

Last2 I gave in. I can't stand him and his claws! xD He'd even put his paws over my lip, no manners this baby of mine.

He Eats...
So far since he's recovering, he eats dried cat food or the wet cat food in cans. He's more to the dried ones tho, not sure why. Give him fresh fried fish or anything like that he won't even lick it. xD I guess sick cats have mood swings with food too. =p

So far today he has eaten....around....4 times! But he eats little as usual but at least he's eating more frequently...if it weren't for me being away from the afternoon until late night, he'd be having more than just 4 meals today. xD

I hope he'd be recovering soon..his meds, antibiotic will be on for 5 days while his vitamin will be on for 3 days only. =)

Kek-Kek is Gone

Last Friday where I Sent Snowy for his second shot at the SAMC, there were one more sick animal in the house. It's Kek-Kek, dad calls it "Kek" for her voice doesn't come out sometimes, resulting in 'aak, aaak..' or as mom calls it, Blackie. I think the name "kek" suits it well, but I call it double, "Kek-kek". xD

black kitten kek-kek is gone on january 2011

It is was around 3-4 months old already and is one of the two females out of her 3 siblings, all of them relies most of the time on us here at my house to feed them. Their mother is a stray and I sometimes see her when I feed my cats. Or should I say cat... >.< Ooh Bensi...

She's the most manja on us out of all of her siblings. She likes to climb on board on the sofa and snuggle in the middle of my criss-crossed legs, like these two pictures I'm showing you. She likes to 'massage' on our legs or arms like Snowy does and she's 50-50 our very own cat if you ask me. The rest 50 is her mom's. xD

And she's gone now. She was looking sick and disconnected herself with everyone in the house- she was under a car upfront when I woke up that Friday morning. Then she went into the dry drain next to our house's and sat herself there. I went to her and she was trying to sleep. Poor thing...so I thought of getting her together with Snowy to get treatment at SAMC later that afternoon. My wish didn't came true.

black kitten kek-kek is gone on january 2011

She was gone. Not sighted anywhere I could think of, I even looked upstairs, just in case. Not that she goes there everyday, but mana la tau...She has disappeared until now...and she's my little second regret now after Bensi. I should've caged her! Arrrghh!

And guess what? These pictures were taken the day before she disappeared, Thursday evening. So sad...and a shame, because she was such a beautiful kitty, with only white socks and white slash of a patch on her chest. Ai...

Guppy Babies Appear!

My recently-newly-official guppy fish tank has already been bombarded with guppy fish babies!! Wohoo! What a good way to start off the start! xD I know, start of the start? I'm not making any sense here am I? xD I call them my babies...so that means my children...so that means I'm a grandmama already~

Here's the last pic of their single-mingle environment...

guppy fish babies on january 2011

Then the babies came out! I don't bother to count how many of them...they were too many and their bodies aren't so visible! You need to look hard enough to notice them in the water.

guppy fish babies on january 2011

Then I saw this fine errr...middle-aged man over here! He was the only one up with the floating leaves and his body was facing the babies, so I thought he's the dad! Even if he's not, let's just assume he's the daddy alright? =p

guppy fish babies on january 2011

Moments later I saw this. Daddy facing the babies, and something water-bubble-like stuck together with one of the floating leaves. I was like, "oh water bubbles" for one moment there. Then it struck me- "Why are the bubbles all same size??" Then it occurred to me that these are eggs, not water bubbles! xD

guppy fish babies on january 2011

Holy cow. It's not even a week after I got these fishes and they're already giving me babies! I'm scared.

My Official Aquarium Tank with Guppy Fishes and Snails!

I'm soooo excited!! I wana show you my perfect guppy fish aquarium! It's officially open for viewers to watch! xD I bought this last Thursday but I forgot to buy an aquarium lamp with some other creatures - snails. xD It would be fun to watch not just one type of thing inside.

Pink Aquarium Lamp
I bought an aquarium lamp for RM36. Super bright, you can adjust it in any direction, any angle you want! I'm in love with my tank 100%!

aquarium tank with guppy fish and snails

One of my snails...I bought 5 of them! RM2 each. I saw one bigger with beautiful colors of red and orange, but too bad it wasn't up for sale- I saw fishes that cleans up the inner side of the aquarium glass too! But they weren't for sale either...DANG! xD

aquarium tank with guppy fish and snails

I'm thinking this size of aquarium doesn't give me 100% joy watching my fishes...I think I'd be getting a much bigger tank soon. Pretty soon. =)

Snowy is Sick- 5th Day

Today, Friday 21 January 2011, Snowy got his second jab at Sabah Animal Medical Center.

Journey in The Car
Boy how Snowy was super uneasy! He was like, walking to and fro between the back seat, climbing the top of the middle seat, tip-handing on the hand bar next to the windows...glaring anxiously at the things he saw on the window itself. He was like, like there was a dog out there and he's trapped in the car! xD Guess he's better now. If not he'd be just lying there, staring at the dark carpet.

At The Vet
He was okay while waiting for his turn..then when his turn was up...he looked scared on the table. xD He leaned nervously next to my tummy..poor him. xD He was given just some shots for his sickness..and vitamin B complex as well. xD 3 shots altogether.

Paid RM25 only! Whoa that was pretty reasonable. =)

On the Way Home...
Snowy was crazy in the car! Punyala, he began his frantic movements, climbing the seats and go back and forth between the back seat and the car board upfront. Well at least I know he's super better now..

At Home
Snowy still feels light and weak to me, maybe because he hasn't eat like normal until now. He still doesn't want to eat like how he used to...but at least he starts to drink a bit now. And he's walking around the house...and disappeared for some time. Maybe he was checking up on his territory, like if any other cats have gotten into it..=p You know la Snowy.

And at night, around 8 pm he started to eat!! The story was when I was up in my room doing something and he came up and start meowing, with little voice. Like he opens but no voice come out..sometimes there is, sometimes none, or halfway through his mouth opening. xD He kept on meowing and I didn't know why. Mom offered him fried fish several minutes before and he didn't want to.

So I just petted him and sayang2 him like usual..I put him on my bed for I'd be away watching movie soon. So I left and he came down with me. xD So in the kitchen, mom thought he's hungry. Offered him sweet and sour fish, no. Rice itself, no. Then mom thought about the wet cat food Whiskas in the fridge, told me to try giving it to him. And he ate!! OMG how happy was I! He ate more than I get to have him eat before this. I took about quarter of tablespoon for him. Then I saw him finished it, I took half of tablespoon. He ate just half of it. =p But nevermind, I'm super happy already he's eating! =D

Maybe tomorrow, his third and finaly jab, will make him all better again...I hope...

Snowy's Getting Better!

I'm sooo happy today! I woke up and mom told me that Snowy ate a bit! And also drank a bit! Boy how happy I was, it was like when hearing somebody gave birth! Super happy, super excited to bring him to the vet again today. =)

I saw him start grooming himself again...start licking his fur again....and he was out there in the sunshine when I came to see him first thing just now.

Today is the 5th day of his sickness. I'll send him to SAMC again, as I'm so going for SAMC from now on. =) Hope he'll be eating more later on after his second shot.

I'm Sabah Animal Medical Centre Customer Forever

Hey guys! I told you about my cat Snowy is sick earlier right? I have a confession to make. I have been Sabah Animal Medical Centre's customer for the first time and have been going there until the time Snowy got sick recently.

Stupid Decision
I was suggested to go to the Jabatan Perkhidmatan Haiwan dan Perusahaan Ternak Sabah at Kepayan there for my cat was thought by us all family members that he was just sick and some medicine or injections would surely cure him up in no time. Like it wasn't such a big deal and there at Kepayan is cheap. Never been there but it's a government branch, so it has to be real cheap there. And it sure was. And a big mistake.

First Day 18 Jan, Tuesday
First day we went there was on Tuesday (18 January 2011). I was asked for my IC and got my own card. Waited for several minutes and I was attended by a middle-aged woman with shoulder-length curly hair. She gave Snowy 2 shots of liquid I don't know of. One in milky-white color.

Paid RM20 for that and was told by that doctor to come again for another 2 days for injections.

Snowy was still looking sick and lifeless. No shine in his eyes and I thought it was just normal. Maybe the medicine needs time to react. To cure Snowy. To treat Snowy. Maybe tomorrow then he'll be a bit better.

Second Day 19 Jan, Wednesday
Second day, I went there early morning again. I got my card then asked, "Did you take the medicine yesterday?" I was like, "huh? What medicine?" Can't tell you how astounded I was hearing that. It was like, all hope of curing Snowy was gone. Then she told me that yesterday I was suppose to take some medicines, as she pointed to some unknown scribblings on the card. I told her I didn't then after much deliberation with a doctor inside, I waited again outside of the medical room.

When I was called, it was a different doctor. A younger one with heavy make up. She asked me why I didn't take the medicine. Of course I'd tell her like how you know the story goes so far- "The doctor yesterday told me to just come for injections, nothing else". That moment how I wished I recorded the whole session I had with that vet yesterday.

She then told me that I had 2 choices- take medicine for several days or 2 more jabs, one per day. I was told that if I take the injection treatment, I'd still have to give Snowy take medicine and if I take that medicine, I don't have to pay anything anymore. So yeah, "medicine saja la" I said, hoping, praying that Snowy would eat them miraculously.

I was so right. My fear came true. Around 12 noon I got home and tried to get Snowy take the medicines that was given. He threw it all up over and over again. He was super strong and scratchy in resisting that dad just gave up after 3 tries. All my hopes dropped.

Another Shocking Discovery
So I went back to Jabatan Haiwan and took my cue getting the card then waited outside the room. It was the same woman and when she saw my card, she was puzzled. She wondered why the scribblings she did earlier that morning weren't there. Another heart-dropping problem, caused by that place. They soon found out that the card I had that morning was somebody else's and that meant I took the wrong medicine and paid RM20 for nothing.

So Snowy got his 2 jabs on the butt and I only had to pay RM5 for it. Gee, RM15 wasted yesterday.

On the way home Snowy slept in the car, much to my surprise. Usually he'd be terrified to just be in the car and won't ease up. That was an improvement, but he still wouldn't eat nor drink later on. Getting scared here.

Third Day 20 Jan, Thursday
Today was a hectic one. I didn't have time to have lunch and went all day without any drink nor food. So it was already 4.35pm and I was still in KK. I remembered the sign on the Jabatan Haiwan's board post that it closes at 4.30pm. So I had no choice but to go back to SAMC. Snowy must have his shot today or he won't recover. This thing cannot go on anymore for today is the fourth day he hasn't eaten a single solid food.

God Bless SAMC
I was so glad I was running late for Jabatan Haiwan. I was so glad I had to send Man to the gym first. I was so glad I took so much time at the marine shop that I ran late for Jabatan Haiwan.

I went to SAMC, around 5pm and it was still open, thank God. I was directed to a young doctor, probably a kadazan, sino..dusun..oh I'm pathetic on guessing people's origin. xD Snowy was checked on his mouth, fur and ear and when she checked his mouth first, she said that he might be suffering from viruses called Feline Leukemia due to his mouth has this one lining of yellow layer at the nook of his upper jaw, right at the nook of his gums at both sides. Looked like chicken fat (color-wise). She then took a blood sample from his ear and checked it under a microscope. A big flat screen was next to it, showing what she was observing at.

Damaged Red Blood Cells
She exclaimed something like, "oh this is bad" when she saw what she saw. She then told me that a healthy red blood cell should have round corners and I didn't see many of it on the screen. There were irregular shapes of that cell with pointy ends like of a durian, very scary after I knew what they meant. That means the virus has gotten over his blood stream and this, she said, could be because of fleas as well. Which, I don't deny because Snowy does have fleas right now (again). Thank you stray kittens! I asked her if he'd be okay, she said maybe. For now she'll do what she can do for him and that is to treat his fever, get his appetite going and kill the virus.

10 Injections, 5 Big Ones
I was surprised to see 5 big, oversized injection tubes on a metal bowl. Snowy was stuck on the butt with a needle with a small thin tube, which was then connected to the big tubes. They were 3 water, 1 glucose and another was vitamin B complex to increase his appetite. I forgot. The injected area got super swollen with water and glucose! xD Like stung by a bee or something. It receded over several seconds.

Then came the other 5 small injections for Snowy.
I thought they looked painful. Snowy went through the previous series of injections with no problem, no struggles. But this one, after 2-3 jabs, he started to struggle, trying to break free. Thank god for the two assistants holding his limbs and head for the doctor. They praised him for being such a good boy. Usually other cats would already run for their life when they get jabs. I'm so proud of Snowy .

Oh the small injections were of 2 tubes for Snowy's sickness, and 3 for the virus. I was told to wait 5 minutes after that to see if there were any reaction to the virus shots- look for saliva-dripping or itchiness. Which, didn't happen. So I went out after paying RM65 HAPPILY. I was so happy. Snowy, after getting out of the treatment room, looked so lively again. I got my cat back again, I can see his shine lits up again. I'm so happy.

In the car, I can see his eyes shone bright like how they used to. And that was a good sign. A very good one. He seemed more alert to sounds and totally looked energetic a bit.

Tonight he didn't want to eat still...but he's moving around the house! He's no longer in our bedrooms sitting or sleeping! I saw him drank water several times more than before. I can see his nose twitch when I put food near it. He doesn't look so miserable now and his body is no longer hot like before! His saliva-dripping pose is no longer on sight. I'm super happy at this. But he still stinks man. xD I scare bathing him now will make him sicker. So I'd wait till he gets better then I start putting those flea shampoo on him. =D

I can't wait to get him to the vet again tomorrow. I can't. I told mom to put him in any room tomorrow morning before she leaves for work as I fear I can't find him when I need to send him to the vet.

I vow to not go anywhere else but SAMC anymore, unless I need to. But I'd definitely stick with SAMC from now on. Anything wrong, I'd go to SAMC straightaway.

Sneezing Style and Personality

Do you know that how we sneeze shows our bit of personality? I never thought of this before, like it can show how our attitude and character is. Very interesting read.

sneezing style shows human personality

Patti Wood, a body language expert, did a study on 547 people and their sneeze habits. Result? 4 types of sneezes that she believes are personality indicators. Whoa. Four types of character just out of sneezing styles.

Result
The Correct: Carries kleenex and is careful to cover her mouth when sneezing.
Meaning: Respectful of others and likes to maintain a dignified disposition.
That's me alright. =D

The Supporter: Tends to hold in sneezes rather than risk sneezing on someone. Awww this is super hard if you ask me.
Meaning: Quiet and caring.

The Expressive: Makes a big production out of sneezing and often sneezes multiple times at once. Oh I see this a lot on old chinese men.
Meaning: A showy and dominating person. Haha!

The Driver: Sneezes loudly but quickly.
Meaning: Sneezes loudly but quickly. Something like me too! I sneeze pretty quick. Loud, not so sure, but people would surely hear me at a foot away. xD

'Tungking' Means...

Do you know what "tungking" means? Not sure what language this is but I once thought "Tungking" means backbone because dad keeps on saying "Patah tungking" when somebody can't reach to the shuttlecock during badminton games. xD

I was wrong! We once went to send Man to Labuan via Menumbok port and I saw this a signboard menu of a stall saying "Sayap Ayam, Paha Ayam, Buntut Ayam, Ayam Tungking". Then I was like, huh? "Ayam Tungking" ??

The Fact Is...
So I asked members and they said it's the chicken butt. So "Tungking" means butt. The back seat. The rear end. xD

The first day I went out to check out what is really at Star City, I found a shop selling beautiful marine sea fishes and I knew I had to get at least one small tank from there.

So I got one! xD I bought all of these for RM120.

I had several choices- Koi fishes, Guppy fishes, Gold fishes or bright blue fish, don't know what it's called. I decided to go with the guppies for they're small and so will my aquarium be and cheap! xD Perfect for a first-timer like me.

One thing I regret here is that I forgot to get a lamp. Dumb2 me. And a bit on the aquarium. Maybe I should just buy a big 4-foot one..aaah later la. So this aquarium isn't yet official in the house.

My Supplies

I was given loads of stuff to start my journey having guppy fishes in the house. =)
Tubifex Worms (the natural fish food), freeze dried
Dolphin H-80 Power Filter (it doesn't work this morning. I have to get help soon)
Chili Shrimp Food Crystal Shrimp Food
Ki-Ki Anti-Chlorine
Aquadine Anti-White Spot Special Fish Care Specialist RM2.50 for 200ml
A fish small scoop
And a digital thermometer, came together with the aquarium I bought.

They're still pretty scared of me or any human contact. Even sight of us near them scares them- they'd hide behind the tank or huddle around the plants. xD So cute. I think I want to add snails or worms in there. Worms are guppy's food. =)

Snowy hasn't seen this yet, but I'm sure his spirits will lit up once he sees this. =) Maybe I'd get a bigger tank if Snowy's better again.

Oh and how contradicting is this? I have cats and I just got them maybe-dinner! xD

Snowy is Sick

Snowy is sick. It's been 4 days since he started to not eating and don't play anymore. I didn't want to post anything about my cats since...Bensi got sick and...left. I didn't take pictures of him being sick because I don't want to remember the moments he got himself sick. Only happy times la.

So anyhuu...Snowy's been sick since Monday this week. He first on Monday night seemed not feeling well. He didn't catch cockroaches...didn't scratch his toy pad...no running around...no hissing with the little semi-stray kitties...so the next day, his breath started to sound hard. Like got 'kahak' in there. His mouth dripping with smelly saliva and he couldn't close his mouth. Eyes lembik saja. So to the vet he went on Tuesday morning.

Accident at Jalan Lintas
On the way home, I saw an accident at Jalan Lintas. It wasn't a really bad one sampai ada yang mati, just car damages la.

Not Eating
Snowy started to not eat on that very same night Monday. He didn't want to eat at all nor drink. He was upstairs either in my room or parents's room, sitting, sleeping, mengenangkan nasibnya yang malang. His body temperature has gotten down...but not enough to make him play back.

I'm super worried, because this was like how Bensi was, only that his saliva's smell isn't as bad. I"m so glad Snowy didn't disappear like Bensi did....I'd be....totally crushed. Totally wrecked inside. Snowy's the first to be in the house, then Bensi. If Bensi I'm already like, even worse from all the experiences, feelings I had dealing with previous breakups with ex-boyfriends, I don't know la how if something happens to Snowy.

Today would be his last day getting his shot. I hope no more sickness la after this...

Accident Near My House in Kota Kinabalu- Again

Yesterday on the way home after sending Snowy to the vet, dad and I saw an accident at the u-turn at Jalan Lintas- again. Last time, the first accident I saw was one involving Toyota Avanza with a Perodua Kancil, 1-2 people died and one of the survivor, the driver of the Avanza suffered neck injury and a bleeding head. And this time, the accident wasn't as bad la, just car injuries. xD

The traffic was supposed to be okay because the road has two sides and the one on the left was free to go. But people just stop and stare. So the jam was like, miles away from the scene.

There were three cars involved. One Perodua Myvi, Toyota Hilux and taxi car Proton Waja. All cars were still okay, just some parts missing on their sides or bumper. xD

My friend Sa would sure 'love' to hear this. xD She's the type that is easily scared of accidents on the road. One bit of craziness I do and she'll squeak. xD
