Sabah Has Fluoride Water In 2011
Sabah's public water supply will have fluoride in it next year!

Health Deputy Minister Datuk Rosnah Abd Rashid Shirlin said that the project RM2.5 million is under the 10th Malaysia Plan (10MP).

Benefits of Fluoride
Fluoride prevents tooth decay and helps in the mineralization of bones and teeth of toddlers and young children. It also promotes repair of the outer layer of tooth (Tooth Enamel) in areas that have been demineralised (dissolved) by acids.

Why Sabah Has no Flouride Water These Years?

Water fluoridation has been discontinued in 1989 by the State Government due to fearing inadequate supervision in the process of adding fluoride to the water. Dental fluorosis, an uncubrable condition in children may happen if a concentration of 1mg/L is consumed.

Sabah has the 'Worst Dental Health Scenario' compared to the rest of Malaysia, according to the Dental Health Survey of School Children in Sabah 1985. Disontinuation of the fluoride water in 1989 added more tragedies since then.

This is a good thing I see here, then we'd have lesser tooth decays and the dental clinics would earn lesser- too bad! xD
