So I've decided to go nerd again. Reading books. As in borrowing from the library and finish reading one in a day, like how I used to be back in high school. xD I'd be reading Enid Blyton 24/7, I even bring them everywhere I go!

So You Wanna Borrow Books?

Surely you think Sabah State Library can have the public to borrow books from it? Noooooo.....it's not the Sabah State Library. It's the library in center KK, the one behind the DBKK building. It's called the Kota Kinabalu Regional Library (Perpustakaan Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu).



I went to the Sabah State Library at Foh Sang, near the Maktab Perguruan Gaya. It turns out that place is only for reference only. No borrowing. It's the one downtown. xD

How To Borrow?
I used to have the old library membership card. Sure it's still valid...right? WRONG. Now, the library uses your very own Identification Card (IC) to let you borrow books.

If your card has expired, you need to pay RM10 to renew it. Just like me that day. xD

Steps To Borrow Books

♥ Go to the book racks on the left from the entrance of the building and star gather up to 4 books that you want to bring back home.
♥ Go to the counter (at the front of the entrance) and give your IC
♥ Let them stamp the dates on the books and take the book after.
♥ Before you leave, the books are to be searched by the guard that's posted near the entrance. I don't know why, maybe to prevent....pages theft? xD

How Long Can Borrow?
The period would be 2 weeks. If more, you'd get penalty. I forgot to ask what it was.

How Many Books Can You Borrow
You can borrow up to 4 books only.

Where to Park??
It was my first time to go there and believe me, I know where it was but I seriously had no idea where to enter that place! I ended up parking in front of the DBKK building. Turns out the entrance to that place is from the left side of it, which means you need to go from DBKK, meet the roundabout then turn left. The junction into the library would be on your left side before the gas station, Shell.
