Papar Pesta Gambus 2010 Celebration
Have you heard how gambus are played and sound like? Are you into cultures? traditional music perhaps? Then head to the Gambus Feat celebration at Papar and have a joyful time there!

papar pesta gambus 2010
The gambus is a stringed local musical instrument that is inspired by the Middle-East and created by the Brunei-Malay community. This traditional lute is one of the oldest musical instruments of its kind and has long been a part of Sabah's musical identity.

There will be gambus performance, of course, accompanied by the sounds of the kulintangan ensemble and silat (traditional Malay martial art) demo. There will also be a fascinating display of Brunei-Malay mock wedding, the making of local cakes and cookies and a workshop for those who want to learn how to play the gambus!

Details;
23(Fri) July 2010 to 25 July 2010. The site and their facebook page shows 23rd to 25th and 24 to 26th July 2010 on the programme, Sabah tourism says it's 25 - 27th...oh confused~
